So Here';s my Issue yesterday Mu brother replaced my hard drive to upgrade the mempry and stuff I know he backed everything up. Usesually when i open my YEM Software My Pack that has for example 31 vioces i worked superhard on for a faw days. and I can;t find the project file PPF because it seems I might have forgot to Export My Pack i know the Content has to be there somewhere as A Code. I hate to have to rebuild all the content Manually. But Hopfully I can use the PPI File and Fix my Issue I Sent A message to Yamaha to see if they can help. Any Advise i would appricciate.

The hard drive would not effect the Flash memory on your keyboard so the voices should still be there.
Maybe you meant you had fitted a large flash memory this should not effect what you have saved on YEM and your pack should still be there. This is why I always like to create my CPI file and save to USB stick to load into my keyboard. Then you have a back up that you can reload at any time.

O ok it's Just when I reopened the Program The Pack that was already on ot was gone and Wondering if I can load it somehow. Thanks

EileenL

If you did not have it saved to the YEM on your computer or have a back up of it anywhere I am afraid it has gone.

I see I see because I was Looking to see If i had PPF File for it and it seeme i forgot to Export the pack and save it as a project file so I thought loading the PPI File could also do the same thing bur when i tried it i got the message saying An error occured and the data could not be imported. SO I gor really Frustrated and said to myself I wish I had exported my hard wirk the first place then i would be ok. are there any other solutions like sending it to Yamaha to fix it or something just cirious. Tahnks.

EileenL

If it is a pack you purchased from Yamaha just go to your account and you may be able to download it again.

It was a Pack I made Myself with YEM and it had 2 packs merged togeather. so Every time I try to load it into YEM It Say's An error occured and the data could not be loaded. Plus I for got to export the pack before my brother did all that work for my harddrive. So Any Solutions I would appericciate.

EileenL

Keyboard Master

I still need more Information thanks

EileenL

Is this a PPI file or PPF file. A PPI file will only load into the keyboard and not the YEM.
Eileen

Keyboard Master

It's a PPI FIle Because I forgot to Export my hard work as a PPF File Because it always loaded every time i opened YEM Now it;s gone thats why im frustrated Because I thought I could just use the PPI FIle to restore it. and YEM would convert it automatically.

EileenL

Unfortunately it dose not work that way. PPI files are designed just to load in the keyboard.

Ok I see so I guess I have to rebuild the pack I did or maybe Yamaha will Improve their technology.

EileenL

If you still have the UVN files this would be the easiest way to remake the pack on the YEM. I don't think Yamaha has a need to change things as the system works well.
Eileen

Keyboard Master

O Ok thanks but hopfully something will come up plus I dont thinl I have a UVD File i might can convert the ppi to uvd if possible but hopefull I can fix it easly

EileenL

It is UVN file for voices and UVD file for drums.

keyboard master,

It sounds like you no longer have your packs in YEM.  If you did not Export your packs, why would you delete your packs from YEM?

Hi Keyboard Master,

you wrote, your hard drive would have been replaced. IF the OLD hard drive is still available (and it has NOT been reformatted yet), your YEM data still should be on this OLD hdd.

You can connect the old hdd to your PC by using a USB-to-SATA adapter:

First, RENAME the actual folder "Expansion Manager" on the NEW hdd, e. g. to "Expansion Manager OLD" (or DELETE this folder).

Then simply COPY the complete folder "Expansion Manager" (exact path see below) from the OLD hdd to the NEW hdd (to the same location, of course ;)). When you restart YEM, all your "old" contents will be there. :)

Location (file path) of YEM User folder:

C:\Users\<your_user_name>\AppData\Local\Yamaha\Expansion Manager

Important: The folder "AppData" may not be visible. In this case, you have to go to "Folder Options" ---> Tab "View" and to activate the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives", first:

Hope this helps!
