Dear Forum Friends

Attached please find the Genos Salsa Style.   This style displays count of beats 1 to 4 for each bar.  However, it is really 8 beats per bar.

What is the best way to change the beat count on this Style to display 1 to 8 instead of 1 to 4 in Genos.  Including intros, breaks, variations and endings . . . .

Unfortunately, for me, i can only play but not proficient with any tools to change this.  I already tried to change in Genos Style Creator but was not able to do it.

Lost. !!!

Your helps is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Hi Al Ram,
I don't thing you can display 8 beats on your keyboard if the style is in 4 beats.
It will erase everything if you change the 4/4 beat to anything else in style creator.
If the style and the tempo suits to the song I wouldn't mind how it displays.
It is the same thing with some 6/8 styles that are displayed as 4/4 or 3/4 beats,
like 6/8 slowrock.
I remember I read a post here on forum about a program that can make a style shown on bars instead of beats.

Load the style in mix master.
Change the time signature form 4/4 in to 8/8

Thanks a lot for the advice.  I was able to download mix-master program and changed the signature to 8/8.  It is now displaying 1-8 and playing ok.  That is good.  However, now that i tested the new modified style i realize that what i really need is this:

a) starting with bar one to join every 2 bars into one and the new jointed bar display 1-8 beats.

That means that for example current bar1 and bar2 will be new bar1 and count/display beats 1-8. Beats 1,2,3, 4 of old bar 1 will remain beats 1,2,3,4 of new bar 1. But beats 1,2,3,4 of old bar 2 will be beats 5,6,7,8 of new bar 1.

Bar 3 and 4 will be new bar 2 and count/display beats 1-8 and so on.

That should apply to intros, 4 variations, break and endings.

can that also be done with mix-master ?

I spent about an hour browsing mix-master options but not being familiar with it could not determine if it can be done or not.  It seems to be a very sophisticated and comprehensive program.     If it can be done, i might invest more time in learning mix-master.

But if it cannot be done, then it will save me time to know that.

thanks a lot.  It is greatly appreciated.
