Sorry, I thought you asked what's the maximum number of records you can have in a music finder, which is 2500.

1825 sounds reasonable for the T5 music finder.

Of course, you can add lots of your own, and you can have multiple music finders.

There are hundreds of Music Finders available, many on this website.

You find them or create them on your own. You switch MFs in the Utility screen.

Hi Fred,
Are you saying if we have filled our music finder with its maximum number of music files we can then begin to fill another list of music finder finder files and have access to the first lot and the second lot by just switching the mfs in the utility screen
In doing so have an unlimited amount of MF files available and all are accessable via Utility switching ( I do understand we are limited by storage capacity )

Hi Adrian,

Yes you can do this.

You can save the current contents of the Music Finder at any time, you don't have to fill it first.

You can also load a different MFD at any time. When you load you get the choice to replace the existing records in the MF with the ones currently in the MFD, or add (append) them to the existing records (assuming that there is enough space - 2500 max.).

You can most conveniently do all this from the Music Finder display itself.   Just press the 'FILES' button (#7), tab to the drive (User, USB or HD1) where you want to save to or load from, and select the file in the selection screen to load, or press 'SAVE' (lower #8) to save making sure that you change the name to something meaningful.

This way you can have specific MFDs for different occasions if you want and select the relevant one as you want it.  Loading a new one takes just a few seconds.

Just make sure that you save a copy of the current records in your MF before you start loading any others!

Having said the above, rather than use the music Finder, I much prefer to use registrations, one bank to a song, named with the song name, which then appear in alphabetical order in a folder. This makes finding any specific one very quick, especially if you use the Tyros' 'List' view.  You can only have 500 entries in a folder unlike the 2500 in a MFD, but that has never been a problem for me, and it is simple to create multiple folders if it is too limiting.

There is information about managing MF records in the section '6  Music Finder – Calling Up Ideal Panel Settings for Your Performance –' starting on page 91 of the Tyros5 Reference Manual, with specific instructions for saving and loading on pages 93 and 94.

Hi Ian,

Thankyou for that full explanation.

It is helpful to get independent explanations sometimes from other users, The manual is often very brief and we can't ask it questions

Thanks again,

Adrian
