I thought I try this format: a survey -- with three questions:
1. the software you use
2. the device
3. the screen size

Thank you for your participation. :)

I shall publish the result in a months or so...

Happy New Year!

When you publish the results of your survey, it would be interesting to also know the Operating System . . . ie.   IOS, Android, Windows,

This info is contained in the device (iPAd = iOS)...

It would be nice if all responding here  filled in the survey, as it is easier to read than individual responses one has to add up.

Also, where it says "Please specify", please specify your 'thing' :)

Please note: the survey can only be filled in once...
So far 10 have participated.

Thank you.

I was using an Ipad Air 9.7" mainly with PDFs using Adobe Reader or IBooks, flipping pages manually swiping the screen.

Some sheetmusic files, specially the ones with two staffs are harder to see and the Ipad Pro 12" is really expensive.

I bought a really good Android tablet 12.2" (Pro12) for just $150

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro12-With-WiFi-12-2-Touchscreen-Tablet-PC-64GB-2-RAM-Full-HD-Android-6-0-Black/332507759470?epid=26011376454&hash=item4d6b01c36e:g:0v8AAOSwvfZaTUUv

The few additional inches on the screen size make easier read the sheetmusic, the screen resolution is pretty good and runs around 7 hours on battery. I'm really happy with the Pro12 tablet for 1/6 of the value of an Ipad Pro.

Now the best part:

I found a software called MuseScore, a free software to make sheetmusic for PC, MAC and Linux, and they have also an App for Android and iOS called MuseScore Songbook.

The MuseScore Songbook app is amazing, it cost only $2.00, the best feature in this app is that  the sheetmusic can be resized and make it confortable to read, it will increase/decrease the number of pages depending of the size. Also it can be transposed to any other key.

The app It does not support MIDI, so still I have to flip pages manually but that is not a problem for me. Turning pages is pretty smooth and fast, just a quick swipe on the screen to the right or left and the page is changed.

I can place the tablet in portrait or landscape mode and the song will resize automatically to the new the screen resolution.

Now that I'm using MuseScore, the screen size is not a problem, I have the app also in my 5.5" Android phone and I have been able to play reading sheetmusic on MuseScore app on my phone.

The app can also play the song and that way the pages will turn automatically, but I prefer to control the pages manually.

In conclusion, this app works for any screen size. Of course, bigger screen is better.

Here some screenshots:
Same song shown in the 12.2" tablet screen, original size, size1 and size2.

Same song shown in the 5.5" phone screen size1.

I've got Songbook+ hooked up to the Tyros via USB and all our bandmembers use Songbook+. So when our singer switches to the next song, all other members are literally on the same page and on my T5, the correct registration gets automatically selected. This functionality enables us to switch to another song in seconds, without fiddling with papers, search function, buttons or whatever.

I have a 27 inch computer monitor mounted on the wall over my Tyros and display all my sheet music on it. Next to the Tyros I have a small MacMini computer (Its sitting on top of the woofer) and it stores all my PDF's.  I use a free PDF reader for the Mac called Skim.  I also stores my library of extra styles, MIDI's, etc on that computer so I can easily transfer them to a thumb drive for use on the Tyros. The Tyros is also connected to the computer by USB for use with the Yamaha Expansion Manager and for quick backups. Using the search function I can quickly locate an PDF, or style. The large monitor displays 2 sheets side by side and is easy on the eyes. Since my Tyros always stays in one place, this is the perfect setup for me.
