Dear friends,

I like to share this video, showing the new rotary sim introduced on Yamaha YC61 (Firmware update v.1.4):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VS9zoF-KMeI

You may note that the effect remains convincing and realistic also when using treble drawbars, where usually the rotary sim show their weakness.

IMHO (former Hammond and Leslie owner, and still owning Hammond XM2 module) this Firmware brings the simulation near to perfection, same level or better than Ventilator and Hammond XK5.

Wish Yamaha would update Genos2 Firmware accordingly. I would immediately upgrade from Genos to Genos2.

Cheers,

Angelo

Yes, Yamaha not considering the requirements of the customers, same in case of Indian drum kits which are available in all PSR Line Arranger keyboards, but Yamaha not provided Indian kits in Digital Workstation keyboards like Tyros5, Genos 1&2 and never produced not even a single Indian Voice expansion pack for Genos 1&2.

I hope Yamaha will do firmware update for Genos 1&2 by providing New Leslie simulation and Indian Drum kits &Indian Indian voices.

Sunny.

Sorry, Indeed as you say, Yamaha also hardly listens to the ideas that are submitted on "Ideascale" I have mentioned several things such as the multipads simple and logical on and off with the same button as with pa5x, and many other things!!
I have closed my "ideascale" account.
I don't want to spend any more time on it!! Yamaha is not much better than korg in this area!
Genos2, Korg Pa5x76, Studiologic Numa x2 Compact, Focurite 6i6, V-Console, PC-Gig Performer & VST's.
Before: Genos1, Tyros 1, Tyros 5-76, Wersi Organs: CD Spectra & OAS Abacus Duo Pro, OAS Scala GS700.

I guess this needs to be repeated every once in a while: Yamaha (and most other global manufacturers) actually rely on their retailers to tell them common customer complaints & suggestions.

You're supposed to talk to your retailer; why? Because if a person says "I wish this did this", and tons of people submit the idea to ideascale, the *one* person (yes, just 1 when it launched; there may be more helping him now) probably gets quite overwhelmed sorting real suggestions from spam (I saw an idea on ideascale for a 128 key keyboard... yes the same person that suggested that *here*). Obviously, that's not a real suggestion, and it's clogging up space for actual queries.

The idea is that when the retailer tells Yamaha "hey, we've had several people complain/suggest *this*" they then know that's an actual issue. Yamaha, Roland, Casio, and even Korg relies on us retailers for this sort of feedback

I'd posted it *somewhere* here how to contact your regional Yamaha (if for some reason you don't have a local retailer)... but I can't remember the link off the top of my head, sorry!
I *did* post a thread with multiple regional yamaha direct contacts.

Mark is spot on. The fact that Yamaha are not always acting on people's ideas and suggestions doesn't mean they are not listening. The corporation has to allocate support resources based on overall commercial reality - what would this cost, will it benefit sales volume or pricing, - and not will this make Joe Blow and a few others happy.
So there is a lot filtering has to go on. People like their own tech experts, demonstrators and retailers would carry much more weight than individual customers because they already do some of this filtering. Individual customer channels like their Ideascale, are probably more about marketing. Just on this forum over the last 20 years I have seen many ideas for 'improvements' and I would estimate that 99% of them are things that would have zero or near impact on whether I buy or upgrade an arranger.

Maybe some of our local experts can suggest how to modify the default leslie dsp parameters on Genos1/Genos2 to improve the effect.
