Sometimes, I find a Style on the internet which has three variations which I really like; but it has a voice in R1 which I do not like. I have tried many, many times to change it, but I am wondering if there is  a step by step guide I could use to make the change permanent. I am aware of the importance of changing the NAME of the style.

Step by step:

1. Select the style and variation for which you wish to change R1 voice (or any of L,R1-R3 voices)
2. Change the voice of R1 to the one that you wish to have
3. Make adjustments (volume, EQ, etc.) for that voice in Mixer if necessary
4. Make sure that voices that you wish to use for that variation are selected (R1 in this case)
5. Press MEMORY button on panel and then press OTS-1 button (in case you wish to save voices for MainA variation. If you wish to save for MainD variation, then you need to press OTS-3 instead).
6. At this point you will be asked into which style you wish to save OTS settings (usually that's the style which you're currently using).
7. Confirm saving.

That's it. Next time when you open that style, your new voices will be automatically used (if OTS LINK button is activated).

Brilliant. Worked beautifully. I've been trying to do this for years. Thanks a million for laying out a step by step procedure.

Taking this a step further........

Is it possible to replace one of the Intro's (like #3) with an Intro from a different Style, and then to save it permanently? If so, how would I do it?

Thanks, in advance.

Yes, look up the Style Assembly function in the reference manual.

Basically you can mix and match any parts from any variations in any style to create your own customised version
