How to edit Genos2 strings to get Con Sordino string effect

Has anyone tried this: Con sordino refers to muted sounds.  On a piano this would be done by the soft pedal and on the Genos2, the felt piano would give a reasonable simulation of this.  I would like to know how to get this effect on Genos2 strings (any ensemble string sound); for actual strings there is actually a  mute on the instrument. I think this is not a matter of (just) lower volume, but a different sound.  Any suggestions?
