A 60s college band staple: IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR

Here's  a song that has a ton of meaning to me.  As mentioned in the past I spent one year during undergraduate school in a college rock band.  Back then 1967-68 all the bands had a few songs they all played.  One for sure was Midnight Hour.  Some bands tried to play it like Wilson Pickett's record while others (like ours) emulated the style of the Young Rascals.   I recall we'd play that song and let it run anywhere from 6 minutes to 10 depending on how into it the dance crowd was.
The jazz organ voice on my Yamaha keyboard is perfect for Felix Caviliere's famous break.   So I still enjoy pulling out a rock style and playing that one.
