Hello!

I've tried this a bit when it was originally released. I found it not to my liking. Maybe I'm the one at fault but the results were disappointing. Several others at that time seemed to share that opinion and discussions seem to indicate this was not a one-button wonder. Many of us just assumed time would be in our favor and eventually many of us would become style making monsters sharing these with anyone.

I put out a challenge to those who said they made successful styles with it. Share something you made to show me what I might have been doing wrong. I have yet to see these offerings. I'd love to see interest spark again.I think it's time to try this again, but maybe this time, with those improvements, and more collective knowledge, it could work for me. Maybe for all of us??

We have also seen many upsets this year with our forums. It still seems that there are really not many of us here anymore. Seems like not that long ago I would have 20+ posts a day to deal with..................................mercy!  -charley

Hi Charley

I think firstly the midi has to be really good but I do find that the software often produces no intro and ending and a poor set of variations. I have a feeling that Jorgen's Midi to Style software is a lot better BUT a LOT more complicated ..there are a few tutorials out on how to use it but mostly in Croatian or French

The issue is that I compare the produced styles with the FFFF set of styles you posted a while ago done by Pierke Munsen which all have GOOD 3 choices of intros plus you can use intro 2 as a M8 or instrumental break ..Variations are top class and then they all have 3 endings ..very hard to beat and always my goto set of Song Styles except there is always those one or two songs you really want that are not to the set!!

I have been looking for Guitars, Cadillacs song by Dwight Yoakham for ages and the midi someone gave me sounds pretty cool but once you process thru the Yamaha software it sounds terrible ... I guess I need to play with Jorgen's software a bit more!!!

Over the years I've looked at various ways to make styles and I learned only that I'm not a natural style maker. Programs such as these give me some hope that maybe someday I'll make a style.

I've had one try with this program, using the instant-whip method, gave it a MIDI and clicked 'Done'. I saw the midi in my collection, thought I'll try out that program with this and selected it without even listening to it, even in the Style maker program. I do believe in magic it seems. A little more time and effort would probably help a bit 😂

But I hope I'll be able to study it further, learn about markers and such, to improve on my initial trial.

I attach it here for you Charley.... name that tune!

Thanks Chris,

This new version does a way better job than the older two versions.
