Hi everyone. I've just bought a Yamaha DGX-670, which I find fantastic. I'd just like to know how to edit a MIDI file, for example, by changing some voices and saving the new MIDI file. To do this, I go into the mixer console, modify the sounds on the tracks, but I don't know how to save the new MIDI file. Thank you to anyone who can help me.

Hi Brad,

Saving modified MIDI files is described in the DGX-670 Reference Manual on pages 52/53 ["Selecting the Setup Data to be Recorded to the Top Position of the
Song (Setup page)]".

If you don't have the Reference Manual yet, you can download it here:
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/pianos/portable_grand/dgx-670/downloads.html

- After you have changed the settings of a MIDI file in the Mixer display as desired, go to "MENU > Song Creator > Setup".

- Important: Press the SONG [◀◀ ] (Rewind) button to move the Song position to the top of the Song.

- Make sure the first 7 checkboxes are ticked (Voice - Tempo). The other checkboxes (Keyboard Voice - Mic Setting) should normally NOT be ticked (only if required, i.e. if these settings really should be written to the MIDI file).

- Press "Apply" to apply the current Mixer settings to the MIDI data.

- Finally press "Save" to carry out the Save operation. Use a new/changed file name if you want to keep the previous version.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
