Hi @Davo,

Yes, the Yamaha "MIDI Song to Style" program is also suitable for creating styles for the PSR-SX700.

Please use the latest version (currently V1.1.0) of the program (available for Windows 11/10 and MacOS 14 - 12):
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/midi_song_win.html
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/support/updates/midi_song_mac.html

The download "Voice List for MIDI Song to Style " (MIDISongtoStyle_VoiceList_V1.01.zip) on the SX700 download site (under "Other Downloads") also contains a Voice List (.txt file) for the SX700. Please import this Voice List into the "MIDI Song to Style" program. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the Owner's Manual of the program, which you can also download here.
>>> https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-sx700/downloads.html

By the way, you should definitely read the Owner's Manual of the "MIDI Song to Style" program in full. Creating good styles has never been easy. Even though Yamaha now makes this program available, in my opinion you still need a certain basic knowledge of style programming and the Yamaha Style File Format. A good starting point is this PDF from our forum members Michael P. Bedesem and Peter Wierzba:
>>> https://wierzba.hier-im-netz.de/stylefiles.htm

Not all MIDI files are equally suitable for making style files. You should therefore also deal with MIDI file programming. If necessary, you then can first edit/optimize the MIDI file in question in order to then achieve a better result when creating the style file.

And last but not least: On the PSR Tutorial main site there are many useful Utilities for Style Editing, e.g. from our forum members Jørgen Sørensen and Etienne Volbragt, with which you can edit style files according to your wishes:

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Chris, thank you, thank you. I think your answer will help me a lot. Yes, we beginners often get lost in manuals and don't know how to choose the essential things. There is too much information and we would like to know too much at once. Then you look for help in all ways, but there are few who can really help. Thank you for your effort.

This is so true, it's why I value the forums so much 👍
