Hi shezza,

You are probably talking about Registration Bank files (.rgt) that you have on the USB stick.

To open the Registration Selection display, either press the "Registration Bank -/+" buttons simultaneously or touch the Registration area in the Home display.

To navigate to the USB stick, touch "User > USB1". Then touch the desired folder to open it and touch the desired registration file to load the bank. Then press e.g. Registration Memory button #1 to load and play the desired registration from the loaded bank.

P.S.
I hope the SX900 can load SX600 registrations. Unfortunately I cannot test this myself as I do not own these models.

Best regards,
Chris

Should have explained better. I have some WAV files (songs) that I saved along with the panel settings on to USB. Now I would like to load both song and panel settings to keyboard, but only the panel settings and the name of the song gets loaded minus the actual song itself.

Hi shezza,

As I said, with "panel settings" you obviously mean Registration Bank files. If the wave files that are linked in your registrations were already on the USB stick and you haven't changed the file names or the name or location of the folder in which the wave files are located, the wave files should actually be loaded by the registrations.

Are the wave files perhaps in the internal User drive of the SX600? Then it's clear why the registrations on the stick can't find the files. External files such as styles, MIDI files, wave files, etc. are never saved "in" the registrations, they are always only linked. So if the wave files are not yet on the USB stick, you would have to copy them there (into a folder on the stick). Even then, the wave files would still not be automatically found by the registrations, but you would have to link them again in the registrations. To do this, you load the desired wave file manually, re-memorize the relevant registration button and re-save the relevant registration bank.

Alternatively, you could use the PC (Windows) program "Yamaha Registration Manager" (YRM) by Murray Best (V5.3) to change the file paths in your registrations to the new storage location of the wave files. This is also possible in batch mode, i.e. for all registration bank files in a folder in one go.

You need to re-memorize your registration. Make sure Audio Song is checked in the group memory screen.

Post an offending registration so we can take a look at it for you.

Sorry Fred but I cant do certain things on PC like you ask. What I have realised is that the WAV Audio Files were created  using Audacity. Would that stop them loading into my Keyboard? I am not ignoring your request, just not that savvy at the moment once again sorry.

EileenL

Maybe a silly question but are you pressing the Audio song button before looking on your USB stick for the audio songs.
Eileen

shezza

Yes Eileen, I have no problem locating them on the stick and I can play them direct from the stick, but cannot get them from the stick to load into the keyboard. I will try and get someone to help me to upload the file to the forum.

What error message do you get when you try to load the WAV file?

There is no error message Fred When I go through the steps to load, the options on the left like USB or User are not lit up just grey. I have a friend who will help load the files to send tomorrow.

EileenL

Please remember that WAV files are quite large and there is not a lot of User memory on an SX700. I have an SX900 and keep all my WAV recordings on a 32Gb USB stick which you need to record to anyway.

Bill

Hi
If you have used Audacity make sure the files have been saved in the correct format.

(WAV format: 44.1 kHz sample rate, 16 bit resolution, stereo)

Hi shezza,

You wrote that you can play the wave files from the USB stick without any problems. You don't need to do anything else. If you select an audio file (WAV or MP3) on the stick, this file will be loaded into the audio player and the file name will be displayed in the Home display. Whether you play the audio files or not is irrelevant in this case.

Then just re-memorize the registration that should call this audio file, and finally re-save the registration bank. After pressing the Memory button, make sure that the Audio Song box is ticked, as already mentioned.

Best regards,
Chris

It will not allow me to upload files.

Hi shezza,
what is more important for you - to play WAV files or to load them?

In your first post you wrote, that the USB stick is from your old SX600 (BTW, on Keyboardforums you wrote in the same question, that you had both SX900 and SX600). How did you use it with your old SX600?

shezza

I suppose I am curious as to why they will not load to keyboard, as I am sure they loaded to my 600 and 900 when I had them but that is a few years ago now.

shezza

Everybody needs a good laugh on a Monday morning so here's one for you, I have NOT been pressing the audio in fact never even saw it, the one lower left in small writing and in a small box. And after all that there is not enough space for the files. So that's that. Thank you all for all your help I feel such a pr@t.

EileenL

Exactly what I was saying. Pleased you got there.

Correct. You need to upload your file to a file sharing site, then post the link here. And remember, we don't want the wav file, we want the registration.
