Can’t Access Site: 403 Error!

I can currently only access this site from an iPad Mini using Safari. Chrome on this same iPad fails.

I get the same failure with any of my other devices: two other iPads and a Windows 10 PC.

I tried deleting cookies, but it didn't help. I am hoping someone around here knows how to fix this.

This is the error I get:

You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

Hi Michael,

I moved your post here to the "Forum How To Focus" board.

Please first read the following topic:
>>> https://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,67576.msg509663.html#msg509663

Contact Roger Brenizer via PM or (better) via Email and tell him your current public IP v4 address, so that he can remove it from the forum server's IP blacklist.

Alternatively you could go into your WiFi router's web interface and force the router to assign a new public IP address. With a different public IP it should work normally again immediately.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

You should see Roger's email address when you open his profile, for example by clicking on his username, i.e. the orange link, next to one of his posts, for example here:

Hi Robert and dacca,

A message like "NET:ERROR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID" appears when the browser detects an invalid / expired SSL Certificate from a website. The site can then only be accessed in "Unsafe Mode".

A possible solution to resolve this issue is to clear the Browser Cache (cached website data) and delete Cookies in the browser. (Your browser may retain outdated cookies and cached files that could trigger the error.)

If this doesn't solve your problem, try accessing the Psrtutorial site using a different browser. In my case, the Psrtutorial site works perfectly with all browsers used (e.g. Firefox, Google Chrome, MS Edge, Tor).

Hope this helps!

Thanks Chris,
When I first reported to Roger I went through the steps you suggest including Chrome and Google Go on my cheap mobile. All came up with the same error message.
I continue to access in safe mode but would not, for instance, use a credit card until resolved.
Regards, Robert.

Chris,
Update......cleared Google cache and data as you suggested......

Hi Chris,
Regret your fix only lasted a day, now back to same error despite clearing cache etc. prior to going online.

Hi Robert,

It's a shame that the problem has arisen again. Which operating system are you using (e.g. Windows, Android, macOS, iOS) and which browser does the error occur with (probably Google Chrome)?

Have you tried other browsers as a test? As I said, in my case the Psrtutorial site works perfectly with various browsers (Windows, Android and iOS, and both via DSL and mobile data connection).

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I usually use a Samsung tablet with Android (recently updated) with Samsung Internet browser which I've used always. Tried Chrome but same error appears. Same with cheap mobile and Google Go.
The problem now seems intermittent as originally happened when accessing PSRT and also when switching from Home to Forum. Today, this post, it only happened once on PSRT access but not Forum access.
After my previous post I had one access where all OK, so at present it's unpredictable.......
I use free Bit Defender from Google Store which shows OK but Roger said he used another AV. Once used AVG so I'll try that again
I'm not too worried but as there have been a couple of other reports I decided to post mine.
Thanks for your continued help,
Regards, Robert.

Thanks for your detailed feedback, Robert!

Such problems may also occur if you access the forum via certain links that were saved a long time ago. I always recommend going directly to the forum homepage via the following URL:
>>> https://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php

... or first go to the Psrtutorial main site and then click on the "Forum" link in the top right corner:
>>> https://www.psrtutorial.com/

Of course, you can also save these links as bookmarks.

Best regards,
Chris

Roger Brenizer told me I could avoid this problem by sending him the IP addresses of each of the devices I access the forum with. This puzzled me, because I was pretty sure the IP addresses would all be identical, using the external IP address of my router/gateway.

But I checked, and two of my four iPads had IP addresses different from this, which was completely mystifying to me until I found out about an iOS feature called iCloud Private Relay. This feature spoofs an iOS device's IP address by relaying communications through a sequence of two servers so that the device's IP address comes up different from the actual external IP address of the home gateway. Somehow, those two iPads had this feature switched on. When I turned it off on both of these iPads, they immediately reverted to the external IP address of the gateway.

All of my devices now have the same IP address, which is the external IP address of my Xfinity gateway.
