Semi installation of Genos1 to Genos2 expansion packs via PC

Hello everyone.  A friend, owner of a GENOS1, has given me the contents of the "Expansion" folder in its internal memory, which contains the styles and records of all the free Yamaha expansion packs that he has installed, including the ones that YEM does not allow. install on GENOS2.

I have copied those packages that do not allow us to install, in the "Expansion" directory of my GENOS2 via PC, and I have verified that the styles and registers are 100% compatible, GENOS2 taking care of automatically searching for the instruments for the registers and styles of the added GENOS1 packages.

These are the packages: "Iberia Colors 1 and 2;  GenosV2.0 SuperiorPack;  and SA2 AltoSax, BaritoneSax, FemaleVocals, PanFlute, TenorSax and Trombone."

Except for some styles where you have to manually search for an instrument, it practically does everything automatically.

I hope the information can help someone.

Greetings.  8)

There really is not a problem. Yamaha have converted all the free packs for Genos2 and they all work as they should. Also the two new packs we get when registering our new keyboard. You will not need the superior pack or the others you mention as they are all in the new pack we get.

Good morning, Eilenn, the "Iberia Colors 1 and 2" packages;  GenosV2.0 Premium Package;  and SA2 Alto Sax, Baritone Sax, Female Voice, Pan Flute, Tenor Sax and Trombone" I have not seen them included in any of those that Yamaha has adapted for Genos2.
Do you know any place to download them from?
Thank you.

EileenL

They are included in the Genos Complete Pack which you get free from Yamaha when you register your keyboard along with the DX7 pack.
The colours Iberia packs if not yet converted will be done latter. If you can get these packs as PPF files they will work.

Hi everyone,
Perhaps I can't find this information, but Colors of Romania V2 is not available anywhere for Genos2. They've converted almost the 90% of the packs, but Colors of Romania v2 (or even v1) was not included.

Any help please?

This won't have copied over the actual expansion voice waveforms though - they are not stored in the same expansion memory as the style and voice files.

Hi Derek

I don't understand your comments, the V2 pack for Genos alone contains 38 voices.

If you perform a simple copy of the expansion folder from one genos to another, it will include the voice set files, but it will not include the associated wave samples and the voice files will not play.

Genos1 packs will not load into Genos2. You need to use the converted ones.Genos1 Version 2 pack is now included in the Genos2 Complete pack.

I'm also looking for a Genos 2 version of the Colors of Romania 2 expansion pack I had on my older Genos. I have 2-3 songs that require the styles from it, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I'm wondering if anyone has found it somewhere... Thanks...
