Dynamic Control idea - would Yamaha be able to make it automatic?

I love the new Dynamic Control function (accept the bug I'm still dealing with concerning that the value doesn't always reset to 80 when changing styles or registrations and the limitation that you cannot save the dynamic control value in a registration).

I guess it would be a very great idea if Yamaha can make it dynamic in an automatically controlled way. So when you play softly (with soft velocity), the dynamic control value can automatically slightly go down. And when you play with hard velocity, the dynamic control value automatically can slightly go up. I guess that would give it a lot of expression instead of tuning it by hand constantly. Then the keyboard is really playing with you together.

Anyone agree?

They used to do that in the past on the tyros 4 and the psr s770 it also does it.I think other, keyboards used to as well.

You play soft in the left hand the style plays soft and play hard and it plays loud. I guess they thought people did not use it .

I used it quite a lot of the time.

I am not aware of such a function on the Tyros 4. Whatever it is, it is not dynamic style control because the Genos 2 is the first keyboard ever with this function. With dynamic control the note velocity of the played notes in the style is changed. This is not the same as volume change.

Though I'm wondering what function you mean on the Tyros 4.  ::)

There was a system where if you press the left hand chords harder the volume changed on a couple of style parts but was not that effective.

It even on the genos 1., look at page 11 of the reference manual.

It called dynamics control.

Yamaha say the new dynamic style changes not only volume but dynamics aswell. I am not that convinced about that

When you hear it you will know what we mean. It is completely different from the other keyboards.

Oh wow :D, I looked at page 11 on the Genos 1 reference manual and see indeed the Dynamic Control setting. I've given many Tyros trainings, but was never aware of this function.

It sounds like my wish, only then for the velocity change instead of volume change. Will have a look on it at the Genos 2. Wonder if they "upgraded" this function to use velocity instead of volume.

The DGX670 auto changes Variation 1 2 3 4 depending on playing key pressure with a number of styles.
This does work well on my DGX670.

Hello
Since I've had my Genos ( 2018 , as well as on the T4 ), this function is always engaged on one of the 3 dynamics, easy to access: Direct Access > Start/Stop to control/modify as needed.
I mostly keep the main Mixage Style screen to control the left hand and I control the right hand on the 'Live control', I've programmed the Mfc10 expression from 55 to 127 which gives a finer precision on the pedal for the 'Balance' between the dynamics of the two hands ...
A very large number of Yamaha styles are programmed for this function, and it would annoy me greatly if it could only be played by the 'Potard' on the G2!... which I haven't been able to check for myself ...

No you can set it for the expression pedal which is what I have done!!

Thanks for your answer, which I heard in the demos. What I wanted to say is that if Yamaha has removed the 'Dynamics Control' from the Genos1 controlled by keyboard dynamics and replaced it with this new function that all the demos have shown with more or less conviction ...
So I'm thinking of thinking longer and waiting for a substantial Genos2 update before buying it, or waiting for the 3 or whatever ...
I'm not convinced at the moment, even though my wife doesn't see any harm in changing it!
But my pedal control with this setting gives excellent Dynamics and Balance control between the two hands... admittedly, you need a lot of dexterity, but I haven't given you all the essential setting values that can only be found by playing...
I need to hear this G2, but as for the 'Presence' of the G2, I've been working with the Genos EQ for a while now, and with a flat curve on my Ui24r mixer ... perseverance gives good results, So ... the Genos is still a little old boy ... full of hidden resources.
