Hi Pierre,

I have never seen that message setting up my MFC-10 on the last three keyboards.

I don't know if you have the manual, but here is a link to mine.

Hope it helps!

Hello!
It worked before I loaded the packs.
Don't know what happened after that.
GENOS2 wanted to format something before the installed packs,
so something happened after the pack install i think.

I don't have a Genos 2, I have a Genos 1, but I don't see what packs would have to do with MFC-10 settings. If you had it working before the packs shouldn't affect those settings.

Maybe Chris knows what's going on.

Hi Pierre,

Have you already installed the Firmware update V1.02 on your Genos2? If not, I recommend doing this first.

Regarding the error message "File not found, or file name is inappropriate":

The file name used may be too long or contain illegal characters. Does it work if, for example, you first load the Preset MIDI template "All Parts" and then save it in the User drive with the same name (or a slightly longer name such as "All Parts Pierre")?

Best regards,
Chris

Midi settings can now be saved in a external file and loaded
For the MFC you can use these settings also and save ( see pictures)
On the G2 i use Midi Channel B 16

Yes, until now (until Genos1/SX900) you could only save User MIDI templates in the User drive, and only a maximum of 10 templates. There was also the "MIDI Setup File", which could be saved in "Utility > Factory Reset/Backup > page 2". This MIDI Setup File contained all User MIDI templates currently stored in the User drive. This MIDI Setup File is no longer available on the Genos2 (but only the "System" and "User Effect" Setup Files).

Since Genos2 there is now the option to switch the MIDI Setting via Registration, i.e. if the "MIDI Setting" checkbox is ticked in the Memory dialog, the file path to the currently used MIDI template file is memorized in the Registration. On the other hand, I think this innovation could also be a potential source of errors, because IF you use it, you would either have to save the MIDI Setting used in ALL Registrations or use separate "Setup Registrations" to switch the MIDI Setting if necessary.

Chris

Thanks Chris and soryt,

All good information for when I upgrade to G2.

Being able to change MIDI setups with Registrations is a nice upgraded feature.

Problem solved.
Did a hard reset, which means I get to restart from 0.
My MIDI settings work again, but I don't dare upload
packs and USER-files again
I'm afraid it will be the same problem again, now I have everything on the USB.
Just have to reprogram my regs.
Most of the packs from the G1 that were brought over to the PC as
then transferred to the USB stick and which is now in the G2 also works.
