Hello everyone,

Today i wanted to start with using playlists on my PSR-SX700. I had tons of banks already. I saw two unfamiliar what seemed factory default 'My First Playlist' playlists and i deleted them.

Now ALL MY BANKS ARE GONE!!!! Aarrgh.... :-( Al my sounds / so much work and time. Is there any way to recover them? Undelete? I could not find anything in this forum yet. I had no clue that deleting these two playlists would delete all my registration banks.

I hope some sort of undelete tool is possible.

Thanx so much in advance.

Jared,

I think your only hope is if you backed up your keyboard recently. If so you should be able to restore it.

I am not familiar with the PSR-SX700, so I can't give you step by step instructions, But I am sure Chris can, if he sees this.

Playlists you create yourself are usually made up by loading in your own registrations to the list. This then just creates a link
to where you have these stored. Deleting the list should not delete the registrations only the links.

There is no undelete for Playlists.

However, deleting a Playlist does not delete the registrations. Your registrations are still there.

All you need to do is go find them, then back them up.

Hi Jared

What Eileen & Fred have said is true PROVIDING you use the Delete button on the Playlist screen, however it is very easy to delete everything if do it the wrong way.  When searching for playlists you will often see "Folders". If you select any folder you WLL Delete everything. Using the select All function can also be problematic.  Hence when using any delete function NEVER select a Folder or use the ALL feature.

Hi Jared.

I will not comment on the Playlist but will echo Rick & Fred's comment to take a backup. It sure is scary when you loose something that you have invested a lot of time in creating. So good peace of mind is to ensure that you can recover your losses.

Here are a couple backup related links that can help you if you have the time to read it. You can make your backup as simple or as complex as you want. Keeping things organized in folders with meaningful names will make your searches a breeze.

Hi Jared,

If you didn't delete entire FOLDERS that contained both the Playlist file(s) in question (.tvn) and your Registration Bank files (.rgt), your Registration files must still be there.

Please call up the Registration Bank Selection display, e.g. by pressing both "Regist Bank -/+" buttons at the same time. Then navigate to the User drive (User > User) or to the connected USB stick (User > USB1). Normally the relevant folders with your Registration files should still be there.

As for the USB stick, you could also just plug it into the computer and look for the .rgt Registration Bank files (and .tsv Playlist files).

Note that on the SX700 you can only see .tsv Playlist files in the Playlist display.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
