Looking for your ideas and experiences on which DAW ( Logic, Garage Band , Cubase , etc) to use with Sx 900 ?
I would like to be able to sent a song created on the PSR (midi) then send it to a Daw for more detailed editing .

I have an IPad Air 4 with GarageBand and a small audio interface and a Midi interface and I find that it works pretty well and it doesn't take up any space.

I have Cakewalk by Bandlab, and it's free to download and install forever. It also includes updates when needed. Its a full-featured DAW and interfaces nicely with my Genos, so it should also work with your PSR SX 900 as well.

I also recommend Cakewalk.
Look at the keyboard and DAW settings, you can find instrument definitions in the video description.

Hi --

I use both Cakewalk and Cubase. Cakewalk gets more use simply because I've been using it forever (or so it seems). To me, Cakewalk handles Sy*** editing better and it's easier to place/order events when creating a new style.

Be sure to download and install the instrument definition file for your DAW, no matter what.

When I want to do detailed drum editing in a MIDI file, I use XGWorks. It is the only program that can do this and all changes are saved as Sy*** strings. Of course, it is possible to edit other channels, but XGWorks is a little unwieldy for editing notes.
