Hi John,

PSR-SX models (like the Genos) no longer have a "Music Finder" but instead have the "Playlist" function that works with registrations.

MusicFinder files (.mfd) can be imported on the SX700 "as Playlist" (in the Playlist file selection display). A Registration Bank file containing one Registration is automatically created for each MusicFinder record (song title). If only preset styles from the original keyboard are used in the MusicFinder file, a suitable SX700 preset style is automatically searched for and linked in the relevant registration. It becomes more difficult if user styles are linked in a MusicFinder file. Then you would probably have to manually assign the correct User Style (saved in the user drive or on a USB stick) to the automatically created registrations later.

My recommendation is: Consider this .mfd import function more as a small bonus and gradually create your own registrations on the SX700 (and with these, if desired, your own playlists).

See also pages 91/92 in SX700 Reference Manual ("7 Playlist / Importing Music Finder Records to the Playlist"). If you don't have the Reference Manual, you can download it here:

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
