Does any PSR SX700 users use Flash Drives ?
What makes and sizes are recommendable to use.
Thanks

FrankJaco

I have been using 32GB SanDisk "Fit" flash drives in my SX700.    32GB seems to have more space that I will need.  What makes these drives special is their very small form factor. They don't stick far out of the back of the keyboard so no chance of an accident. I can leave the drive plugged in without worry all the time EVEN when transporting my keyboard. Despite their small size, they are easy to insert and remove. $6.99 on Amazon.  I recommend these without any hesitation. Link below and picture attached.

Hi Frank!

An excellent suggestion, thank you!

What's more, I can actually buy this USB stick in my country!!

Can you tell me, if you know, what is the maximum size of USB flash drives supported by the PSR-SX900?

Cheers!

If you look at the SX900 list of supported drives (below) not one of them is more than 32GB. I don't know if larger would work or not.  I chose to play it safe and go with a 32GB. I don't know if larger would work. Perhaps someone who has tried a larger drive could comment?

I use 32Gb and it will give you all the space you need.

I have the SX-700 and use the Sandisk Cruzer 16Gb flash drives. As shown.

You can get HUGE amounts of data on to these disks, so as you've been advised, 16Gb or 32GB is more than you'll ever need.

The only thing I would say to you is this.  The USB socket on the SX700 is in a very poor place.
I would ALWAYS use a short USB extension cable to connect your flash drives. It's SO EASY to catch the USB drive when it's on the instrument, and you would be looking at a very expensive repair to the USB socket. Believe me.....I've done it !! It's just too risky. Personally I would NEVER transport the keyboard with a drive sticking out....It's asking for trouble.

By using an extension lead, you eliminate all the wear and tear on the keyboard socket.
Now you can simply change drives on the extension lead without removing it from the socket. It saves wear and tear. It's also much easier to access. mine is taped to the music rest. SO easy to get to.

ALWAYS back up the contents of your Flash Drives to your PC. If you are planning on performing. Always carry a spare copy drive.
