Not sure I understand the second part of your question. If you plug your guitar into the aux input on the Genos then you can take the output from the Genos thru pretty much any amp/s[eaker system you like, as you already do with your monitors. But if you have a separate amp and speakers why would you do that when you can just plug the guitar directly into the amp??

Hi Ronnie,

No internal Genos effects can be applied to the AUX IN jacks. So you would have to use the MIC IN jack to connect an electric guitar. In this case, of course, you cannot connect a microphone at the same time.

In addition to the currently set system effects Reverb and Chorus (which are set by the currently loaded Style or MIDI file), you can use a "Vocal Effect" and any effect in the "Inserting Effect 20" effect block on the MIC input, i.e. all effects , which can be placed on the MIC Part.

You can find the Effect Type lists for each effect block on the following pages in the Genos Data List:

Reverb Block: page 46
Chorus Block: pages 47/48
Insertion Block 20: pages 49 - 53
Vocal Effect: page 78

I also recommend that you read the "Microphone" and "Mixer" chapters in the Genos Reference Manual for effect settings.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks Mike and Chris for your input.

MIKE... You ask what I meant .. I was asking if I plugged my Electric Guitar into the Genos, that I could use any of the onboard Amp Simulators and Effects.
My reason for this with all my Guitar collections I do not have a Guitar Amp anymore as I sold it to afford money towards the Genos.

Thanks guys for helping

Hi Ronnie, Here is a reply I posted in 2018 to a post using the Genos as a guitar amp and its effects:-

Hi Alf

You certainly can, here what I do :-

1. From menu, select Mike settings and turn off noise gate.
The pitch settings I need to look into how these affect the sound, leave as default for now.

2. Guitar plugged into mike socket:-
Select Mixer Panel from menu or assignable button
Go to panel 2 on mixer panel and select effect.
Go to Assign part setting RHS of screen
Go to insertion  effect 20 on screen 3 (the only effect available for mic setting) and set to mic
Close screen and back to mixer screen.

There will be an effect selected which can be changed if you press the existing effect on the touch screen.

    Away you go.

Hi Ronnie,

Among the effects that can be selected for Insertion Effect Block 20 there are also combined types that combine an amp simulation with other effects.

To quickly find all effect types that use an amp simulation, go to page 49 in the Genos Data List and use your PDF reader's search function to repeatedly search for "amp sim" the pages 49 - 53.

Best regards,
Chris
