I load several mp3 backing tracks into my sx900 that we use performing. Not all of the original tracks are the same volume when input. Do you know if there is a "limiter" or  "compression" or other device that can limit the volume when played back?

The best, and probably the easiest way to solve this problem is to run the files through Audacity, using the effects tab and set the volume to -6.0. It may be a bit time consuming, but I don't know of any way to do this on the keyboard.

The only issue with using Audacity for this is that it converts the mp3 to wav before doing the change then has to be re-encoded back to mp3 with potential slight loss of quality.

There is, however, a program that has been designed to perform 'normalising' (getting the files to the same level) and it's called mp3gain, N.B. not mp3gain pro.
