Hi Thomas,

Styles in non-protected Packs (.ppf) or non-protected Pack Install files (.ppi) can be extracted using the PC (Windows) Program "StyleExtractor". Here is a direct download link pointing to the file "StyleExtractor_V1005.zip":

If you have already imported .ppf Packs into the YEM, you can also use the PC (Windows) program "YEM Content Explorer" (YEM-CE) to extract the Styles from the Packs. It is important to note that only one of these two programs should run at a time. If you work with YEM-CE, the "normal" YEM should be closed and vice versa.

Styles in protected Packs (.cpf) or protected Pack Install files (.cpi) can NOT be extracted using any computer program. The only way for Styles in protected Expansion Packs is first importing the Packs into YEM and installing the Packs on the instrument in the usual way. You will then need to LOAD a specific Expansion Style at a time and SAVE it to a location outside of the Expansion folder (e.g. onto a USB stick). For PSR-S/SX models, this is the only option available to you, as the COPY function within the Expansion folder does not work. (For Tyros5 or Genos, you can also use USB Storage Mode to copy Styles from the Expansion folder.)

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
