Hi

Just came across this software https://jjazzlab.gitbook.io/user-guide/

Create MIDI accompaniment tracks from Yamaha style files.

Looks promising.

Thanks Jorgen!

I tried earlier on this forum searching to find out, in order to get the SX600 working together with a composer program.
It all ends out that it was too laborious, complicated  ( recording on SX600 and converting to midi file1) + i did not get he soundquality of the SX soundmodule connected in the composer) ( what i aspected ..so it was not a disappointment)

Now with this JJzazzLab program it could be easier/possible? , to use it for my composer program to assemble libraries from the yahama styles or other sources too

Hi Janamdo :

Interesting ...
Which midi composer prog are you using ?

Thanks for your reply, Jeff Hollande

Jeff Hollande

Thank you very much Joergen. :)

In the meantime I have installed this prog on my pc.
Wonder if others did the same ?

Would be very grateful if experiences are shared here.
There is a lot to learn for me. ;)

Thanks and best regards, Jeff Hollande

Hi Jeff

I installed also JJazzlab like you did.
Curious to see how it works for the import with Yamaha styles, but unfortanely a .psr file seems to be not able to loaded in JJazzlab at the moment ?
(probably i must overlook something, but the advertising of JJazzlab was using yamaHa styles0

The composer i use is called Synfire Pro and i want to make a library in Synfire with the help of JJazzLab
So i must figure out more  ..

Hi Jan  :

Synfire Pro looks to be a very interesting prog.

I understand you are trying to combine Jjazzlab and Synfire, am I right ?

Just rename psr to sty and it will load.

Ruud

Thanks
Was not sure if this was possible in JJAZZLB

Hi Jan,

".psr" in NOT a Yamaha Style file type. You probably mean ".prs". ;)

JJazzLab CAN use the following Yamaha Style types directly:
.prs (Pro Style)
.sty (Standard Style)
.bcs (Basic Style)
.sst (Session Style)

(See also the attached picture.)

You can also try to use the following Style types, but you have to change the file extension to ".sty" first:
.fps (Free Play Style)
.pst (Pianist Style)
.pcs (Piano Combo Style)
.scp (DJ Style)

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Chris,
Thanks !

You are showing a the right approach in the picture: as a Rhyhtm.

I did at first this afternoon with a load command in Jjazzlab and stop further investigating because it was not working yet.
Did some sportcycling with the soft weather here now, so i am do have now time again.
You make it for me now very easy ..super.

Also extra styletypes too, happy with that..but quality counts
Note : also band in a box songs can be loaded
A enormous pool of midi's

How does it now going in Jjazzlab for a style loading ?

Yes, the right file extension must be used, otherwise it will not be recognized.

best regards
Jan
