Hi folks,
I have downloaded Yamaha free packs on my computer first, is that right ?.
Or should I have downloaded them directly to my keyboard?
Assuming I have done right downloading them to my computer , what is next, do I carry them to my keyboard on a USB drive , if so where do I install them to on the keyboard, I am stuck at this point
Do I instead have to process them somehow on the computer first
Looking for clues, can anyone help?

Hi Adrian,

are you using a PC or a Mac computer? Which Windows or macOS version are you using exactly?

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Adrian, you will have to install the yem on your pc first. Then you have to enter your instrument info and then you can import and extract your packs to the yem. When you are done with this, choose what you want on your genos and create a file that you will have to load on the keyboard. Attached a link to a YouTube video in which all steps are clearly shown.

Hello Adrian,
Do you have flash memory fitted to your Tyros 5. If not you will need to buy this first before you can load any packs. You then need to install the Yamaha Expansion Manager or YEM for short. This is where you import the packs to and then from there make an install file on USB  to put into your keyboard and load into memory.

Hi Chris,
I am using Windows 10 PC
Sorry I didn't put that in, I didn't think it would be important

Thankyou Eileen and Fikke
Thankyou both for your helpful replies, I don't think I do have flash memory installed, I bought the keyboard new from Yamaha and I have not had it put in. It has not been required
I presume I can take A look, I assume it is accessible under the keyboard
I have wondered what YEM stands for.
So the Expansion Manager gets installed on the PC computer
Thankyou, I will do those couple of things and see how it goes.
