Hi All
Weird question i know as the Tyros already has a pretty good harmonise/vocoder.
However, i work with a band whereby i play the T5 without using the the left hand STYLE section - ie just as an ordinary flat keyboard - piano's, organs etc:
We use TC Helicon Voicelive 3 units for harmony but i occasionally need to revert back to playing on my own during the gig and would like the unit to pick up on the chords in the style section rather than having to put up 2 microphones - 1 to the Voicelive3 and 1 to the keyboard.
Has anyone done this successfully or does anyone know what the keyboard settings should be in order to pick up the style section chords.
Ihe VL3 unit picks up the chords when i play the keyboard without the STYLE section but currently doesn't when i change to using the STYLE section chords.
I would add that i use MIDI from the keyboard to the Voicelive 3.

Looking forward to positive answer.

...

OK.- so no answers to this question as it is.
I have done some research into the keyboard and have been able to locate the section that allows me to alter left and right or all keys as harmonizer in the buit in unit and that now works fine.

However,

My bass player uses a Helicon unit and he wants to pick up his harmony from the chords i play on the keyboard via a midi link.
Try as i may, i have been unable to get my Tyros 5 to talk to his harmonizer.

Any suggestions welcome.

By the way - i am a complete dunce when it comes to playing around with midi - I just don't understand it.

I have now sorted this query.

By playing around with the midi settings in the T5 and setting the channel to 1, and setting the midi receive channel in the VL3 to 1 as well i have managed to resolve the issue.
I have also purchased a cheap midi splitter and can now us two external harmonisers from my keyboard as well as the built in harmoniser on the T5

Simples - when you have a friend who understands midi !!!!
