Hello  good day,
Don't know yet how to do that with the psr sx600 , probably with the computer connected.
Must figure this out what Yamaha software application is needed  for transferring styles to computer

I must also load some psr 670 styles into the psr sx600

Hi janamdo,

first please read pages 25 - 30 of the SX600 Owner's Manual (Section "File Management").

You can simply COPY the Preset Styles to a connected USB flash drive ("USB stick"):

- Connect a USB stick to the USB-to-Device socket of the SX600.
- Press one of the Style category buttons (e.g. "Pop & Rock") to open the Style Selection display.
- Press "UP" (= upper "8" button) once to go one step up in the folder hierarchy.
- You should now see the Preset Style folders.
- Use "Copy" > "All" > [Enter ] (refer to page 29 of the Manual) to copy all the Preset Style folders to the internal clipboard.
- Go from the Preset tab to the "USB 1" tab (using the TAB buttons).
- Create a new folder named e.g. "sty SX600 Preset" on USB 1 (= the connected USB stick). Refer to page 27/28 of the Manual.
- Select this new created folder to go inside.
- Press "Paste". This will copy all Preset Style folders including all the Styles into this new folder on the USB stick. (Be patient, because this will take a while. ;) )
- That's it! :)

P.S.
You don't need to copy external Styles into the User drive of the SX600. Just copy the Styles (e.g. the S670 Styles) onto the USB stick (on the computer) and connect the stick to the keyboard. Then press one of the Style category buttons to open the Style Selection display (as also done before). Go to the "USB 1" tab, select the folder that contains the Styles. Now select the desired Style to LOAD it (and play with it).

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris
Thanks for your helpful assistence. :)

Indeed i must using the USB stick (no need for computer)
Playing a S670 style from USB station is working well.

Copying the SX styles to USB station is not going smooth yet.
I copied and paste SX600 styles into a folder, but as it seems it are not all styles ?
There is missing a Pop& Rock folder.

Do it over again, and now i got all styles
Note : this step, it seems that when >"All"> "Ok"..  its also copied to clipboard and then to USB tab and select folder with [Enter] ..> Paste
  -------------------
- Use "Copy" > "All" > [Enter ] (refer to page 29 of the Manual) to copy all the Preset Style folders to the internal clipboard.

@mikechavezon  on the forum asks for the sx600 styles and i can share this ( not via this forum ?)

Best regards

Hi Jan,

thanks for your feedback!

I don't have an SX600, and in the Manual some functions are not described in all needed steps. So I wrote "Copy > All > Enter" but obviously on this model it is "Copy > All > OK". ;)

With "Copy > All" there are copied all folders and all files on all pages (P1, P2, P3 etc.) of the current File Selection display. To copy only individual folders/files, just press "Copy" first, then select the desired folder(s)/file(s), and then press "OK". Then go to the target drive and folder, and finally press "Paste".

Regarding the SX600 Styles:
- First create a zip file of the folder that contains the Styles on the computer (e.g. named "sty SX600 Preset.zip").
- Upload that zip file to a file hosting service like box.com or wetransfer etc.
- Post the download link to the zip file here in this thread. (Just copy that link URL into your post.) :)

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Handling the USB station wirh styles transferring goes well now.
The display in the sx600 with options to choose give some information what direction to go

Playlist handling is another thing to figure out
And of course some more features are yet not understood by me
One by one i can try to learn them

Best regards
Jan

Hi Jan,

thank you very much for uploading the Styles! Everything went perfectly. :)

If you have not already done so, please download all SX600 manuals, especially Owner's Manual, Reference Manual and Data List, here:
>>> https://nl.yamaha.com/nl/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/psr-sx600/downloads.html#product-tabs

I almost exclusively use the PDF versions of the Yamaha manuals. It is best to always open the Owner's Manual AND the Reference Manual on the computer at the same time, because you will find information for many functions in BOTH manuals. Use the search function (usually Ctrl + F) of your PDF reader to quickly find all relevant text passages for a specific search term.

If the current Firmware version (1.02) is not yet installed on your SX600 (check under [MENU] > Menu2 > Utility > System > Common > Version), download the new version (from the SX600 download page linked above) and install it.

I wish you a lot of fun and joy with your SX600!

Best regards,
Chris

Thank you very much for submitting the styles of the SX600 for download. I loaded them in my SX700 and everything works fine; these styles are excellent. thanks again

johan

There are indeed some very nice new styles here and indeed they work very well on the SX700. Most styles even include settings for the R3 voice (which cannot be used on the SX600, I guess).

I like for instance the ChinaSlow3-4 with its very good intros and endings. The OTS3 voices of this style are not standard available on the SX700 but you can find them in the free China expansion pack (R1 voice = Erhu2, R2 = GuZheng). This expansion pack had a ChinaSlow6-8 style but I prefer the new 3-4 which apparently is only available on the SX600. Finally, a new way for exercising my traditional waltz learning songs  :).

Thank you!

Toril,
Did you find any styles in the group here that are not already on the Genos ?
Seems like there is nothing really new for Genos owners.

Have not checked them yet, but that may well be the case😀

I did some checks based on the Genos data list (since I do not have a genos myself) and it seems that the sx600 comes with some new styles, such as 70sChartCountry and 70sCountryPop. Also a lot of completely new World styles: bhajan, bangra, duranguense, azonto, etc. Yamaha clearly did not want to forget the non-western musicians with this keyboard since some of these styles use voices that were previously only available as an expansion pack.

See my example before in this post: the OTS3 voices of ChinaSlow3-4 are not on SX700 nor on genos (you can load these voices via the free China expansion pack but this pack does not contain the style itself).

Thank you for posting the SX600 Styles as the ones I've tested so far work very well on my DGX670.
