"Your song" is part of the downloadable playlist for Genos.
Call it up and you are all set.
Or: Style Category Retro Pop, Page 4, 70sGlamPiano, already at 69Bpm, Intro II
Have fun

John - slow 6/8 swing doesn't seem right for "your song". I think you might be recommending a style for "Shade of Pale" - but that's his forum name not the song he is asking about.

EileenL

Erichas it right. The style is made for this song.

Hi
Sorry for my confusion , but i found that the 8 beat Adria works quite well  under EASY LIstening.
The Style could be modified to suit.
Otherwise Doo style site as suggested makes good song specific styles

All the best
John :)

The time signature of the song can be a little confusing to figure out. The song definitely has an 8th note pulse to it, which leads one to believe that a 4/8 or 8/8 time

Hi - I have used two different ones.  I used, in RetroPop folder, the style "UpTempo8b".  Below is a link to a recording I made using that style, about a month ago.  I decided that I wanted it to be a bit more mellow, so recently switched to EasyCountryBallad which works well.  The original recording (by Elton J) is about T=124 bpm.

It's a slow ballad with a definite 2 to the bar feel, tempo around 64-70. Original sheet music says just 'Slowly'. If you can find a 'half time' style, its tempo might be double, but cranking a standard ballad to 120 BPM usually results in a very busy, over-fast sound.
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

And in the original, the drums are very light, so I tried to find the "lightest" style.  I think in the original there are no drums for almost half the song; the acoustic guitar and piano provide the 'rhythm' . . .   -Jim

I use this style sometimes for Your Song at 55 bpm

I also like it with an 8 beat ballad style offered on my DGX-650

You're definitely correct about the 2 to the bar, and "half time style, doesn't feel exactly right for me

Did you try the 70's Glam Piano Intro 2. This is the style for Your Song.

Hi - I tried out "70s Glam Piano", and that one (based on the intro, the tempo, etc.) seems to be
made for "Candle In The Wind".  I can sort of work for "Your Song" too if you slow it down slightly.
Elton John's "Your Song" is at either around 124 or 62 depending on the style.

Thanks for mentioning 70s Glam Piano though, as now I have a better style to apply when  I
play "Candle In The Wind"!

I did try the style, it worked out ok, but have to use the new features "restarted or restyled " to a certain extent because of the 2 to the beat feel sometimes, thank you
