Is there anyone here using 1 man band and if so how do you like it?

Genos!

http://www.1manband.nl/omb.htm

If that's the link, it surely promises to do a lot for $50,and if that's really the case, then I don't know why ppl on this forum would spend hundreds of dollars on other systems when 1ManBand does it all.

Certainly something must be up that I don't know about. Otherwise, it's a complete no brainer for developing new styles, etc.

I haven't noticed a lot of talk on the forum about it, and it's been around a while, so? Dunno.

I believe that quite a few PSR forum members have used OMB. I have not because like most members I see it as a software substitute for an arranger, and a bit pointless when you already have an arranger.

There is a difference
On a keybord you play only with the right hand
The lefthand control the arranger bij selecting style parts and chords
the keyboard plays that
On a software arranger you can order the arranger to selecting style part and chords first and plays that a 100 times better
no cuttoff notes
That makes you 2 hands to play free like piano or split bass piano or other voices
You can stil play chord with your left hand
they are extra and your own play

So, you just make a MIDI file with your arranger first. Then you can use your 2 hands to play along with the MIDI file.  ;)

Buying this extra software is not needed if you have an arranger. It would be a waste of time, learning to use it and money.  A much better idea would be to LEARN to use the full power of your Yamaha keyboard.  8)

You can select modes on the arranger to do the same thing. I do it all the time.
The main differences are that the arranger is dedicated and self contained with superb sound systems but quite expensive. Software solutions like OMB are low cost, but not dedicated. Some people play around with both because they like some features of OMB, like style editing. Or maybe they just like to play around with different technology.

I use xgeworks no need for a sound systeem(xgworks is free to found on the internet)
The sound system is your keyboard
The arranger in xgworks(Yamaha) is the same like in your keyboard
works with yamaha styles
After recording it is very easy to make a remix
I remove all except the notes and make a new mix with all the voices in my keyboard
like normal meta sa and even expension pack voices
You can use the best parts in a style
From one style the drums from an other style the bass and so on
And with midi you can connect to a software sampler to add sampled sounds
Like soundfonds, waves, mp3 and even video files
Works a lot better and faster than install exspansion packs
There is also voice to midi recording
And a special guitar arranger makes 6 tracks for every guitar snare one the guitar
When a guitar is on one track all notes are reset  by the following notes
With the notes on 6 tracks all notes can free ringing out like on a real guitar

Janus -  You can and should use whatever tools you like to make music. We are all different. Some people love playing around with all kinds of technology, some people are fixated on sound quality, some love playing with sounds and voices, some just want to play music in the easiest and simplest way possible.  But bear in mind this is a Yamaha arranger forum, so that is what most members want to use.
Your way of using an arranger that I have seen on your videos ie make midis then just play live chords over them, is not exactly typical, and probably not something most on the forum would want to do.
