I know it would only be rumors ... but sometimes people get a sense of things via talk online or at in-person demos and such.  I'm curious if there are any rumors / buzz about a next new update for Genos?  I know there are a bunch of features that people have been talking about, often the kind that could be done in software and that don't require new hardware . . . . for me, I'm hoping for some additional entries in the controls one can control via MIDI or external pedals etc.

I hope that we do see one more good update before too long!

I don't think much is happening any where at the moment due to this virus. I can't see us having any more updates like the big one we had. Probably be saved for the next Genos if there is one.

I don't think Yamaha will provide the next big update for the Genos.
Genos is 3 years old by now, and maybe soon we'll hear about Genos 2

Hi - yes, I agree we'll not likely see a big update like V2, but I'm hoping for one more smaller update with a few
smaller features added in ... but yeah, Genos has been out a few years by now!

Thanks,

I am hoping that - just like last year - there will be an update to bring new features that were introduced in a lower specs keyboard also to Genos.

Last year it was among other things the chord looper and the tap tempo reset.
This year maybe it could be the Unison and Accent and who knows also even the rec'n share.
I know Genos seems to be missing the hardware for that last one, but who knows maybe Yamaha have a trick up their sleeve like they had when they added expansion memory to Genos.

Genos!

Adding audio to the USB midi already on board would solve a lot of problems with the unbalanced outputs on the Genos.

They seem to have dropped the ball a bit on that one.

It's definitely the only high £/$ keyboard that doesn't have digital audio over USB (that I know of). I sometimes wonder what Yamaha was thinking. Saving a few $? Ha!

Well, they've managed to make me upset and use up a pair of Whirlwind IMP2 direct boxes. I'd actually like to use direct boxes on all of the mains/sub unbalanced outs, but that seems crazy. But, hey, I just might do it!

There should be atleast 1 more big updates, probably 2.
Don't expect a new Genos2  anywhere before christmas 2023.

Don't think I could stand a new keyboard launch for a long long time and go through all those negative post that accompanied the Genos when it came out.

"Amen" to that Jim. I didn't even install the last update.

BTW, I just completed a "virtual choir" project for our church group. I used the Genos to lay down the basic track (via MIDI Multi Recording) and mixed each submission (voices and instruments) as they arrived. My spouse recorded a double-tracked guide vocal -- all done in Audio Multi Recording. The group mix was performed in Cubase as I needed various plug-ins.

All the best to everyone -- pj
