Restoring STY files on a USB stick.

Hello all. I have a problem with recovering the contents of the style on a removable 16GB USB pendrive. By accident, I inserted into the PSR-s970 instead of a new empty it is full with styles to be formatted. I took several trials with different programs to recover my style content that I collected by collecting for several years. today I was left without anything. Maybe someone had such a problem with recovering content. If you know a way to recover the contents of a USB stick or maybe you have a program, I ask you for help. Regards. Kasia.

Hello Kaziu. If you formatted the drive I am afraid they are gone. Maybe you copied them to your computer? Or have the zip files still in your downloads folder? In that case just unzip them again.

Does not say it will restore files on a USB stick which is what the member was asking.
  This is a classic case of where you should always make back ups because USB sticks can also become corrupt and if you have to format them it is important that you made Back Ups.

I store my "working" set of styles on a usb stick which can be switched read-only on/off. This, in its read-only state, is the one that is normally found in my Arranger. It is only removed for updating. First of all it is backed up on my laptop, then the read-only switched off, the updating done, switched back to read-only, put back in the Arranger.

Yes it is always very wise to have a back up on computer and on a couple of USB sticks for safety. It is a real blow when you lose years of work.

When a USB stick is connected to a PC, it usually behaves like a drive and should be able to be checked with the software.

Hello, friends. What I did with the content of the style on a USB pendrive is a lesson to me that such style files need to be backed up or ripped on the computer after all. This USB pendrive I formatted in the PSR s 970 keyboard by mistake, because I bought the same company and I wanted to format this new one. I have made several attempts with programs, it may be possible to restore content, but the attempts failed. The name of the program I received from you Undeleter Abelssoft was downloaded from the Internet, but it did not help. We have a problem with buying such a program in Poland. I am heartbroken and I can't forgive myself "HOW IT HAPPENED" why I didn't check if it was the new one I was supposed to format. I was still incredulous, I thought that the style files were saved somewhere in the memory of the Yamaha keyboard, but unfortunately it is nowhere. If anyone knows a way to cure a USB flash drive, please help everyone. Kazik.

Nobody will be able to fulfill your request. To the best of my knowledge, formatting deletes all data. Therefore, a warning message usually appears again beforehand.

Did you check in your download folder on your computer? Even if you zipped the style files snd extracted them to the USB drive, the zip folders are still on your computer, most probably in the Downloads folder. In that case just unzip and extract them again!

Most of us have thousands of styles lying around. Let us know what kind of songs you had styles for. We can probably replace them for you.

When you remove files from a hd or usb pen
You only remove the adres from the files
The files are stil on the drive
Only when you write files to the drive the old files are overwritten
Use a special prg. to write back the adresses
Also with quick format the files are stil on the drive
use unformat to go back
Only safe format removed everything

Thank you very much for the hint to search the computer. I managed to recover maybe 20 percent of the styles, more are gone, maybe they remove themselves after some years but this is a good injection. Best regards and thanks for the hint. Kazik

better always first format the new usb drive only in keyboard. then have to use it for safety.. do not format it in computer..  its risky.. the always better keep copy of data. that never fail.. i,ll do it always... after updating styles and reg...
