Yo troops!

When I got the T5 I thought I saw a setting for the vocal effects to add echo, reverb etc to the mic settings.

Can't seem to find it now. Maybe it was another keyboard?

Cheers, Norm.

Hi Norm,

these settings are NOT in the MIC SETTING but in the VOCAL HARMONY EDIT display (OVERVIEW tab). See also the attached picture.

To call up this display, press [VH Type Select] button (in the MIC section) and then press [EDIT] (lower button 8 ).

Alternatively you can press [Direct Access] button followed by [VH Type Select] OR [Vocal Effect] button (in the MIC section)

Please refer also to the Tyros5 Reference Manual, starting on page 106.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Hi Norm,

Sorry if this is a repeat of an early reply but this guy gives a step by step guide you can follow.

Give it a try.

CHRIS... Sorry for the tardy replay.

Well bugger me, as Liberace oft said!

That's a funny place to put it! (Liberace probably said that too...)

(Sorry Liberace fans.)

I've never found the Yamaha OS to be intuitive, to be honest. Probably too 'died in the wool' for a muso who's simply not into programming and tech.

That's a huge help, amigo. Been trying to suss this out for ages.

I've been working on another project for the last few days and I'll get stuck into this properly over the weekend. I'll post my thoughts early next week.

Thanks you're a gent.

HEY DAVO!

That's an interesting take right there.

Quite an innovative way to teach a lesson using YouTube and screengrabs, innit?

The only mistake he's make here, although it's maybe done on purpose for the lesson, is to use the Vocal Harmony all the way thru.

Makes it very robotic.

(Gets on my t*ts because there was a local (kinda) musician who used vocoders CONSTANTLY to 'sing' and by the end of the night, you'd want to ram his vocodin' mic where the sun don't shine.)

Like I said to Chris, I'll get stuck into this over the weekend.

Thanks to both of you guys so much! Appreciated.

Norm.

Norm, you are a very funny man  ;D ;D ;D

You'll have to search a bit but there are a few other songs where he isn't quite so dependent on effects other than a bit of echo. The intent was to get you to the starting blocks.

Cheers mate and good playing  8) 8)

Hey Davo,

"Yup, they all laughed at me when I told them I wanted to become a comedian.

"I did. They're not laughing now... "

Totally get it, dude.I actually have a nervous breakdown 2 years back and was hospitalised on a looney bin for 3 weeks.

Seen "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"?

It was EXACTLY like that but without Danny De Vito and the Big Indian Chief.

My T5 and the great input from members of this forum have SERIOUSLY helped me get back on track.

Norm.

PS I'll look at his other videos – never thought to do that, thanks mate!
