I've tried many times to try and follow the manual [handbook] which came with my PSR 970 but  have not been successful. I would like to make a MP3 or even post something in Members Performance.

Hello YammyFan! Unfortunately, you can not record MP3 files on the S970, only Wav files. However, you can use a computer program to convert the wav file to MP3 afterwords.

Here is a step by step instruction for you on how to record a wav audio file on the S970:

1. Please insert a USB stick into your keyboard.
2. Press the audio record button just above the voice select buttons on your keyboard.
The audio record screen will now be shown.
3. Press the red record button on the screen by pressing the button right under it.
The start/start/stop button on the screen will now begin to flash.
4 To start the recording, press the button right under Start/stop and immediately begin to play your song.
5. When finished, press the button right under STOP.
The keyboard will now send your recorded song to the USB stick. It will show as Audio 001.
You can name the file on the keyboard, but I always take it to my computer and name it. Much more convenient.

Let me know how it goes, I look forward to hearing your song.

To post a song in the Songs played by forum members section you now need to upload your song to a file sharing service, such as box.net, dropbox or OneDrive and then provide a link to the song.

Use a programme like Audacity to convert to MP3, as WAV files are very large in size and you will run out of storage space on Box if using the free one.

Hi Toril S, do the steps you listed work in a PSR S950?

I wonder whether someone could do a similar step by step tutorial for the DGX-650  (I assume the DGX-660 would work the same).

Every time I've tried to follow the manual's instruction for recording something doesn't end up working.

Hello dr4sight.
I don't have a DGX, so not sure how it works, so I advice you to post your question on the board for DGX.
