I notice here is a new version of Open Text.  I have 1.4.  Do I need to d/l this latest version?

Hello,

The latest version before OpenText v19r1 was  OpenText 1.4.3
One of the users had a problem on his PC with version 1.4.3.
That was been solved in version v19r1.

I do not remember exactly what the problem was, but it was apparently very specific.
No other user (me included) had that problem with OpenText 1.4.3

To answer your question :
If you are using Open Text with Windows XP -> DON'T change because version v19r1 doesn't work with windows XP.
If you are using Windows 7, 8, 10 you might change to version v19r1 but it is not necessary. It's up to you to decide.
If you do switch, I recommend to first make a backup from all the pdf, midi, sheets ... that OpenText uses on your PC.
A backup is never a bad idea.

Regards
Etienne
If plan A doesn't work, don't forget that the alphabet has 25 more letters.

Thank you for the great answer.  I have V1.4.3 but have never set it up.  It looks fairly simple to do & I think I will go ahead and do that.  I very likely will be back with more questions in the future.

Hi ekurburski,

if you have never used the OLD version (and not yet set up it), I recommend starting with the NEW version right away. Then you can easily install upcoming updates.

Best regards,
Chris
