Are there Genos FREE Style conversions to Tyros 4 ?

I have all the Genos to T4 conversion but for some reason not the FREE play styles..

any help appreciated

Dnj

I really enjoyed playing with them on my T$ which I no longer have ...

I hope they come available someway....somehow.....like the other Genos to T4 conversions?

Try downloading the Tyros 5 styles from the style section on the home page. They have the freeplay styles in there.

Hi Dnj,

in the Genos there are ten (10) Free Play styles. You can find nine (9) of them among the "Genos Styles for PSR-S970" mentioned above by Francesco:

file 02-Ballad-97.zip:
- 80'sChilloutSynth

file 08-Ballroom-97.zip:
- TheatreOrgBallad

file 09-MovieShow-97.zip:
- AmbientChristmas
- EtherealMovie
- EtherealVoices
- MovieHorns
- OnBroadway
- OrganHymn
- RomanticMovie

You can also use these Styles on the Tyros4.

The one missing Free Play style is "BrassBand". The original Genos Style uses the Voice "OrchTrombsFast" for the Pad part (MIDI channels 5 and 14). I have revoiced these channels in MixMaster with the T4 Panel voice "Trombone" and saved the style again. You can download the revoiced style here:

P.S.
I did a quick check of the used voices in the other nine Free Play Styles mentioned above: There are many voices used that are NOT on T4 and S970. In many cases the missing voices are automatically substituted by the keyboard. But if some of these Styles do not sound properly on your T4, you can change the "wrong" voices directly on the T4, or you can use a PC program like MixMaster to revoice them.

Best regards,
Chris

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Did you actually download the Tyros 5 factory styles because the Free Play styles are there.

Yes Eileen I did...did you listen to them vs the Genos free play styles?
maybe the sound substitutions on T4 is what is different?

It is interesting i find to 'wade through' any styles ( both user and factory ) and mute out some or all the drum bass and perc. parts ....to find that some can be used as virtual 'freeplay' Ok they are not true freeplay versions but it is interesting to experiment. I often do this and bring the tracks back in in another registration within the song ....this adds a nice variation.
I like doing this on my little Korg it is easy

Don't think we are talking about little Korg's Keith.

No I realise that ..... but as I own both Yamaha and Korg Eileen, as do many other Forum members  ....i just thought i would mention it as it works on both....... Ironically they have dedicated live controls on there to mute the backing tracks which automatically produces a partial freeplay style on the fly.

I wont mention Korg again on here  ....and will consider myself 'told'

Hello everyone!

A few hours ago I found these videos on Youtube, it could be of help for those who need the sounds of Genos on their Tyros 4.

Best regards
