MUSESCORE - Subscription Cost?

I'm not a regular user of Musscore however recently they have introduced a PRO Version which is NOT free, but on a Subscription.

The basic version is still free, but it does not allow you to download a score provided by another user.

The web site says the cost varies depending upon the country in which you live, but it will not tell what it costs UNTIL you sign up for 30 Day free trial.  I'm a bit reluctant to do this at the moment.  They are also a bit vague on what features are actually included in the upgrade.

So does anyone know what it costs in the UK?

Regards

Bill

Hi Bill,
I've been using the free MuseScore for a few years now...
I have downloaded some scores from the other members with no problem - just set up yourself as a member and sign in before you try to download.
I have downloaded piano music, lead (fake) sheets, quartet and full scores.
The only time I had a problem opening the download was when I didn't have the (newer) version of the software that they wrote it on.
So, I then just downloaded the newer version which was required (the computer pop up had told me which version was required).

Hope this helps...

Hi Bill, back in December, Musescore had a special on for a week or so. I got it on that occasion for £23.88

Hi  Genos, Bruce & Geoff

Many thanks for the replies,  If I was a prolific music downloader it would possible OK, but for the occasional download it is more than I'm prepared to pay on a subscription.  I would stretch to a one-off payment, but not paying upfront like that.

Just to clarify something to the readers, this post is referring to the Musescore app, which is not the same thing as the Musescore desktop program.

Hi Michael

It is the Desktop version I am talking about.  However, it appears to be working OK now.

Hi Genos

I did try many times to download some stuff a few days ago and it would not allow me to do so. It always came up with a screen to accept the 30 day trial.

However, after reading your last post, I decided to try it again  -- low and behold it worked OK with no suggestion of a free trial.  Very strange, whatever it was does not matter, it works now.

Thanks again for replying, otherwise I would not have tried it again.

He Bill it is possible to download a score provided by another without a subscription.
I don't have a subscription and can look for songs made by other users and download them. The only thing is you need to make an account with a password. When you want to download it, as a PDF or an XLM file you enter you open your account.

I can't recommend Musescore highly enough.

It's really easy to learn and there's a tuition course if you want to learn quickly.

It cost me about £21 (US $25) and it was worth every penny.
