Adding effects to a style

By playing around with Groovyband Live I realized the following:

1. If you can find a way to add effects to midi data, the arranger can play it.
2. Groovyband is all about adding more effects to styles.
3. It sends the result to Yamaha via ordinary midi.

Now I have a question - is there any software available that can add more effects to styles? Surely the Yamaha arranger can play these, but lack the versatility to create these.

I've looked at MixMaster & StyleMagicYA and I cannot find any obvious way to do what Groovyband does.

Short answer - no

Remember when you are playing back from e.g. Groovyband you are really playing back through the MIDI song player, not the style engine. You therefore have all the DSP units available to use freely as you want across any of the song channels. (OK not 100% true but close enough)

When you are playing a style onboard on the keyboard through the style engine, you are constrained on which DSP can be assigned to style parts. On PSR-S the limit is one (DSP1), Tyros and PSR-SX900 allow 3, and Genos allows 8. There is no way around this constraint if you are using the style engine.

You can try to connect Midi A in and midi B out  with a midi din cable
No need for a expensive midi cables, you can use the normal 5 pole din audio cables
use the midi usb in for the software on the computer
only if you have both midi din and usb midi
The replay goes then in song mode
Then you can add more effects
You have to make a midi setup To mute the style parts and left richt 123 to avoid feedback

Now there is a BRILLIANT idea!!! I will ponder about this in earnest. Thank you so much for your suggestion.

Be carefull beware of feedbacks keep the volume low by trying

This is how things like VConsole work.

It should work for style play, but it can be a bit frustrating because if you assign DSP to the song channels then select panel voices, the panel voices will steal the DSP assignments from the song channels. The S models only have 4 DSP to go round.
