I will gladly pay for the following custom utility:

1. Convert any of seven on-board voices of a specific Yamaha arranger to seven user memory locations residing on my PSR S770 in a batch process.

Anyone willing to quote me for something like this (From one only specific Yamaha arranger to one only specific Yamaha arranger re-map seven voices only - on-board to user memory)

Hi Henni.

Please give a "specific" example, because I don't understand the problem. What means "seven on-board voices"?! What means "seven user memory locations"???

Henni

Hi Vali,

I want to be able to remap the default equivalent on-board Genos drumkit voices to seven voices in my user memory.

From this:

RockDrumKit;127008017
PopDrumKit;127008073
80sPopKit;127000066
80sR&BKit;127000067
PopPercKit;126008045
JazzBrushExpanded;127008076
VintageOpenKit;127008074

to this:

Revo! RockDrumKit.S362;062001005
Revo! PopDrumKit.S362;062001002
80sPopKit.S362;062001006
80sR&BKit.S374;062001008
Revo! PopPercKit.S379;062001000
Revo! JazzBrushExpanded.S362;062001014
Revo! VintageOpen DrumKit.S362;062001017

Right now I added these seven voices to the Genos.dat file in Mixmaster. So I select Genos as my master instrument and then manually select the appropriate drumkit voices for every style. When done, I save as a Genos style as my PSR S770 can play these styles.

I am looking to do all of this in a batch process. I.o.w. scan every style in a folder for any of these voices and then auto re-map to the equivalent drumkit voice in the user memory. (i.e. Just like MixMaster does with updating all XG voices in a batch process.)

I do not expect this utility to be supplied for free. I will gladly purchase it.

Thank you so much for your interest my talented, kind friend,

Henni

Hi

Just to understand your inquiry correct:

You want to change drum kit in your style files? - Preset styles in the keyboard can not be changed.

This can be done in my "Style Revoicer" software at http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/revsty/index.htm

But not in batch mode...  :(

Would a batch mode in that software do the trick...?

I understand now.

Yes, it could be done automatically in a batch process (but not right now) in Jorgen's software, Style Revoicer. Maybe he will think of an update for this job.

As I see, he must build a Mapping Replacement data table, from a keyboard TO a keyboard. And when you load a folder which contains some styles, the software will automatically replace the mapped voices from replacement table. The only job for you (as user) is to set that replacement table, as you want, which voice to replace to, and which drum to replace to! :) This table must be saved for future batch process...

Regards,
Vali

Hi Jørgen,

Tx for responding.

No, not preset styles. I want to do any of the following:

1. Remap any styles using on-board Revo drums to my Revo drums residing in my user memory.
2. Update older styles to Revo drums using Mega Enhacer - then re-voice these drums to use Revo drums in my user memory.
3. Update all SX900 styles to use the Revo drums in my user memory. (The SX900 use different addresses for revo drums compared to the Genos.

What would be nice would be to have a utility that can map ANY let's say ten or so voice locations to any other ten voice locations in a batch format. I.o.w search ANY folder with styles and if any of these user defined ten voices found in any style, then auto re-map to the appropriate new addresses.

Thus the user selects any ten voice addresses as a input table with any ten voices in a output table. The program then auto re-map these as and if found in any style in a batch process.

For now I want to use for Revo drums, but such a utility has many applications. Let's say I have much better voices for any instrument in my user memory (installed packs) I can then update all user styles to use these new voices instead.

So I now have a female "Hey" voice in my user memory - I can now search any user styles that use this voice i.e. the Genos to use the "Hey" in my user memory instead.

Kind regards,

Henni

Hi Henny

Good explanation.
I am going out of the house for a week now.
Will take a look at the possibilities next week.
Sounds like a rather simple task.
Maybe I am wrong.  :(

Well, I will begin thinking about the project...

Style Revoicer...Is this only for Style Voices or Can we edit Drums voices using this program.
Tyros Voice Set unfortunately can not be used with Drums.

Another utility I would gladly pay for is something to allow me to copy one COMPLETE channel i.e. Bass from one style to another, copying EVERYTHING including all the intros, endings, fills and break in one single copy, overwriting EVERYTHING in that specific channel in the destination file.

Thus I can replace i.e. everything in the Bass track (channel) with everything in the Bass track from another style in one single copy.

Would someone please consider creating a utility for this also?

:D
This utility is a little bit difficult to make, because it must take care of some rules:
Measure Type - Length of each Style Section - Tempo (Yes, tempo)!

:D

You can make something like this with a bit of work in Cubase, or another DAW software, but you will have to recreate the CASM section for that style!

Hi Vali,

I was thinking more of merging different versions of the same original style which eliminates all of these problems.

Thinking of DAW software was too much  ;D... I thought better, and is more simple in Style Assembly, of Style Creator than using a DAW. ;)

Interesting problem guys.

I have been thinking of something along the same lines - being able to create new styles using samples taken from VST instruments. Theortically, it should be possible using expansion voices converted from VST instruments and  loaded into the keyboard with YEM. There's a discussion in this topic:
https://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,53092.msg414281.html#msg414281

The trick would be to create an application that can do this on the computer. An "expanded" YEM? LOL.

One question for Henni - Where do you get the addresses from shown in your post?

Henni

Hi Richard,

1. Genos info from Genos.dat residing in the voices sub-directory inside the MixMaster main folder.
2. Any Pack voice addresses can be exported using Vali's YEM content explorer.

As for Yamaha - using my arranger I can  browse in ANY section of ANY style into ANY style. Yamaha takes care of the tempo changes and bar lengths. If too short, it will just loop repeatedly in that section. If too long, it will just be cut at the appropriate measure. Plus I can  browse in intros, endings, fills or anything else into any variation or any other section for that matter. Been doing this for a Loooong time already. This is where Yamaha shines! Cannot do same on my Audya...

Kind regards,

Henni

Henni

Hi Vali,

Yes, I can do it in style creator, but only one section at a time - thus 14 edits or so in total which takes rather long and is really tedious. I want to do this in one single operation as I do this very often.

Sometimes I do as many as 200 style conversions before I find a single result that I could use. For Windows, I use Macro Recorders wherever I can. For other utilities, I always use the batch functions. Hence my request that could do this in a single exercise.

Kind regards,

Henni

Henni

This is how I use Macros to take care of tedious tasks in Win 10 - everything you see here is done by the Macro - Now imagine doing this all for 200 times in one session?
