I found this response from Yamaha to a member's question on a Dutch forum:

Thank you for your mail and your interest in our products.
We noticed the unfortunate change of chord symbol size also and at the moment
there is an investigation on the way, how to solve this quickly.
For the time being it is possible to perform a 'downdate' to V 1.41 without problem.
Please check our website regularily, as any info about upcoming changes
will be posted there first."

Why funny, Vali? This is normal in software development. We've seen Microsoft, Apple, Google do the same thing.

The good news is they acknowledged it and are working on a fix. That's all we care about.

Yes, most new software versions have to be updated with small corrections after some time. I am sure they will give us an update soon. I wish for bigger letters in style and voice names.

It's simple Fred:
Some things in development process has to be changed, because of "the problem" solving process. But to tell that "we notice that..." seems funny to me. It's like "I did not know what I've done when I've programmed, it simply happened". To me seems like a beginners comment, sorry ;)
To change things that work, and to not thinking of the repercussions it's a beginner's fault, IMO! Yamaha is not me, I'm considering me a beginner programmer, but they must have A LOT of testers an a big development team, which must do the things correctly.

As the day goes by there are more and more dozen programmers, and more than that, employers only think about low costs, high profits, and this is sad. The quality is not seen anymore on long term products, IMO.

Regards,
Vali

Considering that these keyboards are mainly made for older people who may need
reading glasses for small letters or who may need them in the future, it is essential that
this issue be corrected as quickly as possible.

In my case, I use reading glasses at home when practising, but can not do that in
public when performing.

Like others have said, it's not a huge deal but rather a rather a minor annoyance.
And I agree. But it would be nice if it were corrected as soon as possible though.

I see this all the time everywhere I look.
Where something works perfectly and then someone "improves it" by messing up
some of the features that made you like the product in the first place.

Best Regards,

Abby.

Hello Everybody.
With the new update 2.1 Yamaha did not consider who we have difficulties with the text size. Font size is still too small.
Waiting for a next update. Thanks.

Why don't you use an external monitor for lyrics display
The keyboard sceen can than used for other display like the mixer

Dramin Hug

It's a good option. Thank you, Janus.

I do use an external monitor. I use the largest font Yamaha supports. The words still aren't big enough for the audience to read.

Yamaha needs either to buy us bigger monitors, or fix the font size. Their choice.

Hi Abby.
I liked your last post, but I have to say that I don't know that if a keyboard is "mainly" made for certain age ;) We spoke here about a TOTL of Yamaha. There are a LOT of things there useful for dance music, or newer genre of music, which is not anymore old age music. Yes, indeed, comparing with other brands, maybe is the one which has an eye to old players and they meet their needs ;) There are a lot of young players which play with this board, and we try to implement new needed functions and features ;) But, also, some old players are against our needs ;) We, are not ;))
