How to copy the Playlists to Genos' internal memory?

Hello Everybody
Is there any simple method to copy the Playlists (e.g. Playlist for the latest Superior Pack ) to Genos' internal memory - or Playlist always has to be played from external USB stick?
I ask since I have read somewhere, that Playlist can only be played from external USB and in fact only from USB1 mounted underneath of Genos - which is hard to believe for me.
Also, is it possible to have many such playlists in Genos' internal memory or combines such Playlists?

The USB  stick dose not have to be under the keyboard but it must be the only one plugged in when accessing the playlist.

Thanks EileenL
So Playlist can only be accessed from external USB stick - no way to copy it to Genos' internal memory?
It would be easier - one thing less to remember - like if I took this or that USB stick with me   ;D

EileenL

That is the idea of  securing one in the underside compartment. Then you have always got it with you.
I also have a backup of all my user content on this stick and any new content I add to my user I also add here. This makes it easy for me to remove this stick every couple of months and back it up to my computer. Saves trailing a lead from computer to keyboard.

Agreed. It should certainly be possible to access that playlist from the internal USER space as is the case with previous bonus playlists.

Mike,

A playlist can be run from anywhere. To put it on the User drive ("internal memory" in your parlance), simply load it, then save it to the User drive.

However, this freedom does not apply to the files (registrations) that the playlist references. That's where the confusion arises.

A playlist is simply a list of registrations. If the playlist was created assuming the registrations are on USB1, that's where they need to be. Otherwise the playlist won't work.

You will see posts that say the Genos V2 Superior Pack Playlist must be run from the USB1 drive. This is not correct. The playlist can be anywhere. But the registrations must be on the USB1 drive, because that's where the playlist expects to find them.

I'm not sure of the value of having the playlist on one drive, and the registrations on another, but that's up to you.

Cheers,
Fred

Has Version 2 curred the problem of the USB numbers changing when you have more than one stick inserted, if it hasn't then you will need to have the playlist on any USB stick you use that way you can be sure that the Playlist is always on USB1 as it needs to be, explained by Fred. However if you do the copy of the Playlist yourself you need to copy it once when Registrations are selected and then copy it again when the Playlist button has been pressed, otherwise the copy won't work correctly.

You have the original and converted playlists in the same folder.
Unzip and copy folder to User area. Load the playlist which have "_User" at the end of name.

Playlist converted with GPW, in 5 seconds ;)

Thanks for your explanations, guys.  :)

Vali thanks a lot for your file - I guess I would not be able to do such copies by myself manually.

Some things are not as straightforward and seem to be a bit too complicated to me  :-\

There is so much to learn, I really appreciate your help.

Sadly it does not work for me, It sais file can not be found  :(
I guess I did something wrong
Thanks anyway

It will unless you do it as I said, you have to copy twice, once in Registration mode then again with the Playlist button pressed before you do the second copy, it will say file already exsists do you want to overwrite, say yes. One other thing when you copy in reg mode it will take a little time when you copy again in Playlist mode it only takes a few seconds.

It has to working right now.
I made a little mistake.

Extract folder from archive and copy it to USB.
Insert USB on keyboard.
Click on left-up corner on the screen, to open registration gateway (or press both + and - buttons near registration memory, for Regist Bank Select).
Navigate to USB.
Press on File -> Copy.
Select folder with name "PlaylistForGenosV2SuperiorPack".
Press Copy.
Select User.
Make sure to be in the root of User. Left bottom must be "User:/". Press right-up corner "Copy Here" button.
Now you have just copied all registrations needed for this Playlist.

Copy playlist file.
Press on Playlist Button.
Press on the TopCenter textbox, with the name of playlist (or empty).
Navigate to USB. Open Folder  "PlaylistForGenosV2SuperiorPack". Click on File - > Copy. Select the second file (that has "_User" at the end).
Select "User". Press "Copy here" (or you can put it in any folder you want. This is NOT an important step. Registrations MUST be in the place where playlist it stores as links).

There you go, it must working ;)

Vali

It's not that simple! :)

If you want to use the playlist with content stored in User place, you have to modify the playlist file, also. Not only copy to User memory.
You can do it simply, by opening the playlist file with Notepad, or Notepad++, or any text file opener, and replace "I:/" with "C:/REGIST/" . In Notepad use Ctrl+H to open Find And Replace screen.
Copy your folder from USB to the root of User memory, and that's it!

Genos Playlist Worker has a bug on changing path to User memory, because "REGIST/" word is not added, so the path is incorrect. Will be solved these days.

Best regards,
Vali

Hi Mike

There is only ONE simple way.

Download the Playlist Folder and put it on a USB Stick.
Open the folder and delete the TSV File. (You do not need it as the file structure will be wrong)
Put the USB stick in the KB.

Select Registration Mode (Push the Reg + & - Buttons together or tap the Registration Icon on the main screen)
Navigate to the USB Stick.
When you see the Folder (Do NOT open it) click "Files"  then "Copy" - select the folder the Tap the "Copy" Icon.
Navigate to the USER area and select COPY HERE.

Now Tap the White Playlist Button.
At the top of the screen you will see an Icon called NEW - Tap it and confirm that you want to create a NEW Playlist.
Now on the Right hand side of the scree you will see a Sub panel called Add Record.
Below this tap LIST
Now navigate to the User Area - you should see your Pack Registrations Folder.
Tap on the Folder Name and select "SELECT ALL"
Now you will see all the names in your new playlist.

Now you only have to SAVE the new playlist IN the USER AREA.

All Done.

Hi Bud

This will NOT work when saving to the USER Area. The file structure within the TSV File will always look for the Registrations in the folder on a the USB1 Stick.

Hello Bill
Thanks for procedure you provided.
It is very useful. I managed to install that playlist using Vali's file, but I will follow your method for the next playlist.
I think it was good I brought up this subject here, as there were some confusions regarding that issue and it is not as simple and straightforward.
Thanks you as other users make take advantage of your advices, too.

Mike

Yes my solution was if you just wanted to use it from the USB stick, which does work because I have done it.

ONLY Copying content will NOT work.
Bill's solution is the best, when you don't have a lot of work to do, and all the registrations you will insert in the playlist. (As it was right now ;) - Clearly the simple solution, thanks Bill).

The structure of playlist (the link to registration bank file) is changing from an device to other. Simply copy process, does NOT work ;)

Vali
