Yes thank you! I  meant 1.41 but at the moment my Genos is currently on the older OS version and not 1.41 but I was wondering if I needed to updated to 1.41 first then 2.0? Thanks!

Does anyone know what the "50 new styles" may consist of? I am crossing my fingers for some funk/R&B/jazz stuff.

New Content - GENOS V2.0 SUPERIOR PACK (50 Styles/68 Voices)
The GENOS V2.0 SUPERIOR PACK adds 50 all-new Styles covering vintage pop and dance sounds, as well as SA2 Premium Voices such as "Pan Flutes," "Female Vocals," and "Trombone." What's more, cutting-edge synth voices like "Monolan Bass," newly introduced with the PSR-SX900, are also included so that you can more easily recreate music from any era, from classic pop to the latest hits.

Yes i love it ;D ;D

Lucky i have not bought this because i really wanted.
It's coming 15 November 2019 for all.

Lovely update... more then expected
But not what i was hoping for ..
I really would have loved to see the Bosendorfer transfered to the Genos..

The rest of the update is good.

John, how do you know this? Is there a video of these updates? The link is nothing but a bunch of pictures and descriptions, which is good too! Where are you getting your information about "pan pipes and second-hand trombones" or are you speaking figuratively:)?

Initially, weren't there only 20 new styles. Now there are 50!! I just hope they're not all Dance and EDM - totally useless to a lot of us (not to disparage those who are proficient in those styles of course :)!)

Looks like Yamaha is listening to us. Yey!!!

Hi
Who wants pan pipes?? Lol!!!!!! ;D
...

I want a good Pan Pipes ...

As you see in these two pictures, always almost one PanPipes singer is present in an orchestra of ethnic music in Romania (Moldova) (East Europe). It is the left-most singer, always. I want to reproduce such an orchestra, but the sounds from our keyboards are not so realistic as the players perform. So, some good SA2 instruments like Pan pipes, violins, clarinets, sax, trumpets and trombone will make a good pack of orchestra sound.

"Lautarii" orchestra from Moldova.

"Advahov brothers orchestra" from Moldova.

These are two of the best orchestras from Moldova.

I MUST say again: If someone does not need something in an arranger that does not mean anyone else does not need it! An arranger is not sell only on some countries or some continents. It is made for ALL the world. And music is made by a lot of instruments.
For example we do not use BagPipes. 99% of this instrument is played in Scotland. Let it be there in keyboard, because I'm sure Genos is sold in Scotland, too, and they need that voice. And the examples are a lot ;)

Best regards,
Vali

I love Pan Flutes and the Yamaha pack ones are lovely and I use them a lot. The Trombone is also beautiful. To be honest I did not like the vocal voice as much as it sounded a little synthetic.

As a Scot, l would love a decent bagpipe sound, as the bagpipes on the Genos are rather poor. And l agree about the Pan pipes, l think they're a lovely relaxing instrument to listen too  ;)

I quite agree with Eileen.

But the vocal voice is good for "once upon a time in the west".

Hi
Would be nice if we had some quality packs from certain synths , like Juno etc. Like the soft synths, Syntronic from IK Multimedia and Arturia, Korg.
Better guitars and saxes that to not go thin at the high ends
Like Oxford says, the bagpipes are not that good, very thin in my view. If you want to emulate  "The Outlander" it does not come up to that quality.
Movie type version of  "Over the sea to Sky"
The Genos is not a cheap machine.
Overall i am not moaning as the Genos sounds are great.
The only way to get more quality is VST 3 mixed in with the Genos via Cubase or something like it.

All the Best
John :)

Hi John,

tyrosman probably means the (German) website of Peter Schips ( www.cms-sounddesign.de ).

Here is the free content (in German language):

http://cms-sounddesign.de/page101.html
http://cms-sounddesign.de/page132.html
http://cms-sounddesign.de/page16.html

And here are the same sites in English:

http://cms-sounddesign.de/page101_en.html
http://cms-sounddesign.de/page132_en.html
http://cms-sounddesign.de/page16_en.html

These free Voices / Packs (.ppf format) are for YEM-compatible Keyboards only (Tyros5 / Genos / PSR-SX900/700 / PSR-S970/975/770/775/670 / PSR-A3000).

Some Voices / Samples are additionally available in .wav/.aif format.

Note: To my knowledge, Peter Schips does NOT offer any voices in the .uvn/.uvd format anymore (Tyros3/4 Custom Voice format).

Best regards,
Chris
