Vali,

How did you create that screen in Channels Manager?  How is it possible to load 2 styles at the same time?

My idea is to Export/Save a style Part to disk, so we can build a database of style Parts to be Imported like Sections... like in Sections Manager.

Joe, is simply Paint copy section of a printscreen .

I guess this little trick is more useful than exporting style parts. You simply select a style you want to import some content and you may chose than which channel will be imported from which variation. ;) It is more appropriate to Yamaha's Style Assembly function ;)

It's a good idea though.  You might pass that along to Thomas. Importing a second style into StyleMagic and be able to choose from any style Part to copy to the first style would be a very powerful feature  :)

I have been creating 4-part styles from Multi Pads in StyleMagic (converting MPs to a style) that I can use with Style Creator Assembly. I do this because it is easier to edit and modify style Parts than Multi Pads.

I'm glad Thomas is open to ideas from StyleMagic users.

I have sent to him...

I have redesign my Paint images as this ones:

Initial Channel Manager screen:

After you select the wanted style to copy from it:

You may copy channels events (midi and CASM) only from temporary to current style, not vice-versa, and even if the style has more than one channel assigned to a style part (ie: Bass on channels 11, 2, 3), you will drag only the events from channel dragged.

Nice? :D

Vali

Nice!

But Thomas said it is important to copy Alternate channel data too. So if Bass uses ch11 and alternate ch1 (for variation) both will get copied to the style.  My suggestion to Thomas to Export/Import style Parts... he liked my idea.  This would work the same as Export/Import style Section. I showed him EMC Style Factory which has built-in database of style Parts.  Maybe there is a way for all users to contribute/share style Parts to create a database of style Parts.  Even if that is here on this forum.  The style Parts saved would be categories of:

Drums
Bass
Chord
Pad
Phrase

Sub-categories would be for different genre of music to match those on our keyboards: Dance, Ballad, Jazz/Latin, ethnic, etc.

These would go into folders the user can place anywhere on their computer.

BTW... anyone who is reading the thread.  StyleMagic makes a great Multi Pad Editor.

Load your Multi Pad into MixMaster then from the GO TO  Menu... send the MP to StyleMagic for editing as a MIDI file. If you have pack Voice files installed then you can assign pack Voices to your pads, use the Mixing Console and Voice Editor to make any adjustments and save.  It will be passed back to MixMaster.  When you save from MixMaster, it will be saved in the right format to play on your keyboard.

Another option is to change the extension of the file from .pad to .mid then load into StyleMagic. After you save... change the extension back to .pad.

Hi Joe H,

How do you do this? I want to copy multipads sections into style channels.

Kind regards,

Hi Henni,

Change the extension of the pad file from .pad to .mid and boot StyleMagic... then do the following:

1. From the File Menu... Open MIDI
2. Go to Channels Manager and move channels 1-4 to channels 13-16
3. Go to Multieditor... left-click in the Marker row at the beginning of ch13 and insert a Section A Marker
4. Close Multieditor
5. From the Tools Menu... CASM autocreate (you will see a line of copyright text inserted, you can double-click and edit this to your name and year or delete)
6. Open the Mixing Console and  edit to your hearts desire, Voices, Volume, DSP depth, etc.
7. From the Tools Menu; click on Validation / SFF
8. Save you new simple one-section style file.  It will default with the Multi Pad name or you can change it.
9. Load into the keyboard and edit further if you like and save.
10. Now it's ready to use with Style Creator Assembly to add the new style Parts to another style if you like.

NOTE: If you don't have YEM Content Explorer you can get it here:  https://www.psrtutorial.com/forum/index.php/topic,43547.msg344073.html#msg344073

With it you can create a Voice List for your custom pack and add it to StyleMagic with IDL Editor v2.  You can get that free program here: https://www.midisoft.pl/en/#pricelist

Hope this helps.

We can thank both Thomas, author of StyleMagic and Vali, author of YEM Content Explorer for their programming efforts that gives us the tools to make life easier for those who wish to be creative.

Hi again Joe H,

You put me onto something stunning. I managed to get my custom pack voices into Style Magic - now I can browse them in on the fly just like with any other standard on-board voice. With MixMaster it was more difficult. Finally I realized I have to ad these to my existing PSR S770 voice definition file. Now I can use these in MixMaster also.

Thanks to Vali - He is a GENIUS indeed. And thanks to Thomas also!

Henni
