How To Stop a Fill Playing

With some styles, when changing a Main Section (A, B, C, D), before the new variation comes into play a fill sounds. How can I use the Style Editor to stop this happening?

In your registrations, if you want the fill to play, make sure the style button is flashing when you memorize.

If you don't want the fill to play, make sure it's not flashing when you memorize.

Also another not that common way:
In Style Creator you can delete all the 8 channels of the fill in A.
Now when you change from Main A to Main B there is not a fill in to play anyway.

Just in case you don't remember whether the song needs a fill in or not,or you forgot to disable the auto fill in, which is needed for other styles/songs.

I agree with panos.

What is going to happen is you will forget to turn the FILL IN back "on" for the next song you play at your gig. It's best to set the style up as a USER custom style or use a registration to set it up. Also turning the FILL IN "off" will turn off all the FILL INS while you are playing a song (bad idea).

Choose the style.The style must not playing.
Press B button from the Main Variation buttons.
Now the B button is lightening on and off
Press the following buttons around your screen: FUNCTION-F-B (now you are in style creator)

Press J button (DELETE) and keep it pressed while you are also pressing the small buttons 1 to 8 under your screen one by one(J+1,J+2...J+8)
Now press TAB right button(USB 1)(TAB button is above the F button)
Press J (save) and press again TAB right button.
Now press 6 down button(save).
Write a name and press 8 upper button (OK)
Press EXIT a few times.
Press OTS 1.

Now when you move from main A to Main B there is not a fill in.
There is also not a fill in any more also when you press B button while you are in Main B variation.

So when you move from a main to another with the Auto fill in,the fill in belongs to the second variation.

I don't know if on your model the buttons are little different to press on the whole procedure.

How do i remember what button to push every time? I just look at my screen.It is telling me what  to do.
After a while you are used to it like finding where the C chord is on your keybed.

Thank you. I have used the Style Creator, mainly to steal bits from one style and stick them in another - bits like Intros and Endings. Also, I fiddle around with the drum kits, mainly to stop the overpowering kicks and snares. When I followed your precise instructions, I have to admit that I'd never before noticed that delete button, and even if I had, I doubt that I should have considered what it might be used for.

I pressed and held the delete (J) button and pressed all the small buttons 1 to 8. I must have an aversion to Delete commands, because I failed to notice the grey Delete bars that appear, which tell me to press the upper row 1 to 8, so I pressed the lower row, which of course did nothing.

I got it right the next time and successfully saved the modified style which worked as planned.

These delete bars will be useful in future when I want to silence one instrument in a style segment, as I follow the "less is better" principle.

I am not always of a "less is more" principle fun when I hear how a full classical orchestra can make simple motes and harmonies to sound like magic but yes you are right.
Not all organs of a preset style will fit to every song.
That's why we also like to use the assembly function to "replace" some parts.

And not always needed too many parts or changes of the right hand voices for a song to be super.

Sometimes I like the kind of orchestration from less to more and to even more until the keyboard is out of polyphony, when the score and the genre of music allows such a thing
