Hi,

I have FileBrowser installed on my iPad Pro & use it to successfully copy files to my PC.
However,  I now wish to be able to copy some files / folders from my PC to iPad & save them in Books.

Would someone be able to point me in the right direction to achieve this.

Regards

Alan

Alan,
One suggestion is to put the files you want to transfer into Dropbox on the PC ( You need to have Dropbox on both the PC and the iPad)
Open Dropbox on the iPad and transfer the files to whichever app you wish it to go into.

Hi Alan

I agree with Carol about the easiest way of putting files on your iPad, however you can transfer files from the PC to the IPAD using the File Browser app.  You do it ALL from the IPAD  not the PC.

You must have the PC connected to the network (and be switched On)  On the left hand side of the IPAD you can assign the PC to the list of devices using the + sign. Usually this is the computer name.

I use Google Drive in a similar way (it takes longer to describe than to actually do it).

Open Google Drive on the PC.
Click on + New and create a new folder in which to place your file. (This is not strictly necessary, but it's only done once, and makes it easier to locate the file on the iPad).
Double click and open your new folder. Right click inside it to open a menu and click on Open files.
Navigate to your file on the PC, select it and click on Open to copy the file into your new folder.

Open Google Drive on the iPad. Open your new folder, double-click on your file to open it. Click on three dots in top right-hand corner to open a menu. Select Open in. Click on Copy to Books

Hi everyone,

Alan & Carol - At this stage I'm not connected to either Google or Dropbox cloud services but can see their usefulness.  I may connect to them at sometime in the near future.

Bill - Could You please explain more about how you use FileBrowser as you mentioned.

Thank you to each of you for your input & help.

Hi Alan

Sorry for the delay.

Make sure your PC is switched ON and connected to WIFI / Router

Switch on the IPAD and select FileBrowser.
At the bottom of screen you will see an ICON marked Locations. Select this .
At the top of the screen you will see a "+" Sign at the Top Click on this. Now Select Computer/ Network Drive.
Now select the Type.  PC
The APP will now search for your PC.
Once it shows select it.
Now you only have to give permission to connect.

Once the PC is sorted you will not have to go through the setup again.  You can simply select files and copy to somewhere else.

Is this FileBrowser already part of the iPad's software, or is it an App which has to be installed from the App Store?

Hello Alan,

You can purchase FileBrowser - Document Manager app by Stratospherix Ltd from the online Apple store at a cost of £5.99

I hope you are keeping fit and well and if you fancy meeting for a coffee again over your side of Birmingham this time I'll be more than happy to foot the bill.

Best regards,

Mike

Bill. -  Many thanks for the helpful information.   As I already have my PC installed in the locations on my iPad,  I was wondering more of the process of selecting a file on my PC & transferring it to my iPad.
