Hi,

is there a Yamaha note to midi number chart anywhere?

I've Googled for some time but can't find one. :'(

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Here is a PDF version of a simple Excel spreadsheet which currently shows the MIDI note numbers if Yamaha's octave numbering is used.

You can have the spreadsheet if you like in which you can set the Octave number for Middle C.

Note that the MIDI note numbers are absolute, whatever octave numbering convention is used! So for example Middle C will always be MIDI note 60, although whilst Yamaha refers to this as C3, others may call it C4!

BTW,  I will put something together and reply to your queries about the MCF10 template later.

Edit: Attachment removed due to error in chart!  Corrected version attached to post at this link:

Hi Martin --

As a quick reference, I often use the note numbers and names in the Data List drum maps. It doesn't cover the full range (0 to 127), but it's good enough for rock and roll.

All the best -- pj
