Hello friends.
I decided finally to dive into the dreaded subject of registrations, and thought it would be easy to start loading some registrations I got from a friend. They are on a USB. So I do this: In main screen I press new bank, tab to the USB, find my folder, open it, and I see the registrations, but they don't get highlighted when I press a button. Obviously doing something wrong, as the machine is always right :) Please, how to do? Edit: I see all the registration files, but when I try to press one, I get a massage: Registration file is changed, do you want to save? Noe, I just want to LOAD it!

Ok, then just say no. Same thing you said to us.

I say no, but then nothing happens. The file will not highlight.  According to the manual I do it right.

Funally got it to work. Had to copy the files to the keyboard. Would not work from USB.

Registrations will work from the USB.

The first problem I see is when you "press new bank".

But you don't want to create a new bank. So why press this? You just want to select a file.

You select registrations the same way you select styles, midis or any other file.

Press the appropriate button for the type of file (in this case J for registrations). Now navigate to your file, the same way you would select a style. Select the drive, select the folder, select the file.

I do not see what Toril means when he says 'In main screen I press new bank, tab to the USB,' There is no button that says 'New
bank', so I guess he means Button J, which is next to the Registration position. But what is he then calling up? It will be the registration bank that happened to be left the last time the Tyros was used.
He then tabs to the USB, but that doesn't change the bank - only the display. If he then presses any button, the Tyros will assume he is trying to change the setting on the registration bank, and therefore will ask him if he wants to do that without saving.
All of this would be avoided if he tabbed FIRST to the USB and then pressed a registration button, wherupon the whole bank would be changed to accord with the USB.

Thanks Brisn. Sorry for being unclear! I meant the j button. Have sorted it out now😀

I tend to click the "Bank Select" + and - buttons together, which opens up the display to select a registration bank file. Same effect as button J, but it works no matter what's currently showing on the screen.

Thanks Derek. I discovered that. I think my mistake was doing this first, and then tabbing to the USB.

That is not a mistake ;) , it is what you "should" do to access registrations that are on the USB. On Genos (and formerly Tyros) I do that much of the time since I keep all my working files including registrations on USB.

Thanks John. I will hopefully get the hang of it. Time will tell😀
