Murat

Good evening all,

Could you please help me to find some nice and modern (not techno and not middle eastern type) Greek, Balkans, East European and similar styles please?

I specially like to find 5/4, 5/8, 7/4, 7/8, 9/8 as well as 2/4, 3/4, 6/8 and 4/4 please?

Thank you in advance.  :)

I believe there is an East European pack on the Yamaha Music Soft site with styles in.

Also check Drake's conversions of the Balkan pack and the best of europe pack if you don't have allready those styles as presets or something.

Thanks Eileen, actually I already have those styles.
Thanks Panos, when I click no the link there are lots of links there but can't see Genos mentioned? Please could you tell me which ones I can use for my Genos?

East European has some style but does not have so much styles in measures you search for. Balkan and Turkey has and also Turkey Pack from EMOMusik

Look here for demos :
https://eu.yamahamusicsoft.com/premium-packs-and-voices/balkan-and-turkey-9
https://eu.yamahamusicsoft.com/premium-packs-and-voices/turkish-genostyros

And a search on YMS Site gived this result:

Regards,
Vali

Open these 2 folders on that page Murat

200 Styles for the PSR-S950 (SFF2)
BestOfEurope.zip
8/17/15; 40 styles
BalkanStyles.zip
8/06/16; 40 styles

They were converted  for the s950 but they will work for Genos too.
Just use the mixng console to find better voices on your keyboard for the parts of the style if you can.

Why the video's of these 2 Yamaha's packs for tyros 5 are so short?
If someone wants to buy music he got to hear it first, not read a ....list?  :(

It's like trying to sell you some compositions that:
No 1 is a melody in the key of Bm with 84 bars,
No 2 is a disco song with 6 different chords,a chorus and a verse,
etc...

Will I convice you to buy them?  :-\

Murat

Thank you for the suggestions.

I actually have the Best Of Europe pack (not the East European pack Eileen suggested) so I will also look into that.

I downloaded the zip files from Pano's suggestion. I will try them this evening.

Vali's suggestion, regarding the yamahamusicsoft site, it sounds like the styles were created a very long time ago and they don't sound good (my opinion), but as you guys say, the sounds can always be changed using the mixer. Would be great to be able to see if I would actually like the upgraded styles once I change the sounds before purchasing them.

Hi Murat,

maybe you will find something suitable on the following website:

http://www.piyanistset.com/yamaha-set/

There you can download complete Packs/Sets with Expansion Voices and/or Styles for FREE.

You can also use A3000, PSR-Sx7x and Tyros5 Packs (.ppf format) and Voices in .uvn/.uvd format (Tyros3/4) with the Genos.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Murat

Thank you Chris, looks like there is tons of information there, great.

Hi Panos, I am looking to play back / try the styles however I can't remember how to load them to my Genow. Please could you remind me how to do it? Do I use YEM or?

panos

No just save them on the usb.
Use YEM only when it is an entire expansion pack(ppf or ppi format like the site overover indicated) that contains new drumkits or/and new voices.
For single styles or altered voices or multipads just save them on the usb

Hi Murat,

I forgot to mention the following: For some of the downloaded zip or rar archives at this site you need a password. You can find the password near the particlular download link (mostly it is "piyanistset.com", but in some cases only "piyanistset").

Best regards,
Chris

Panos, Chris, thank you.
Panos, yes the styles are working; some good, some so so, but overall great resource for styles, thanks.
