Dear all,
since my family is getting pretty "upset" with my music,
I'm planning to buy a headphone set for my PSR S975.

I'm not vey familiar with these kind of gears, can anyone provide directions?
It is better to use traditional headphones or earphones?

My requirements/questions are:
- Good bass response (in order to be aligned with the speakers/subwoofer of the keyboard)
- Good insulation for the "neighborhood"
- Good comfort
- 100€ max

Thanks in advance

DonM

I really like these:

I have many more, but these are my favorites.  Comfortable, great sound, replaceable cable... very nice.

DonM,
thanks for the hint.
I'll investigate if this product is available in Italy.

I use 2 sets of headphones on my S770.
1. Sennheiser HD-555 with open caps.
2. Audio-Technica ATH-M40x with closed caps.

The M40x sounds more professional to my ears.
Balanced bass (no too strong, but very accurate and punchy) and high details on mids and highs.
Is very comfortable and have a good insulation.

(If you have the time, read some of the comments)

If you want a pair of headphones for the bass and only, you must try some with open caps (but it's lacks in insulation).
If you want a balanced and detailed sound, (and insulation, too) you must hear a headphone with closed caps.

thanks  lot.
I'll review all these suggestions.

Hello :) If possible, try them on, you want the earphones to be comfortable, so that you can sit at the keyboard and loose yourself in the music without the earphones sitting too tightly and hurting your ears. Not too base heavy, they most be clear in the midrange. Sennheiser, Sony or Bose, I have wireless Sony noise cancelling earphones that I use with the cable when playing keyboard. I also hade a pair of cheep KOSS over ear phones that I use a lot. They are super light and comfortable.

Yes, I have some Koss as well.  They've been around forever but still quite good and fairly flat.  Mine are PortaPro, and guaranteed for life.  I broke one pair after a year or so, sent them back and got a brand new set at no cost.

Hi Simone
I share your pain, there are times my family doesn't want to hear me either

I recently purchased a pair of JVC HA-RX 700 headphones and they are a great over the ear headphone with attention to base. Although they are big, they are also the most cmfortable pair I've ever had

They can be purchased on line at B&H Photo or Amazon for $45-60...see full description and reviews on Amazon

Although I'm currently on my own, i do have some regard for my neighbours, (semi-detached house) so most of my playing is with headphones.
Currently using Sennheiser HD-201 headphones on my CVP605 and find that they give very good all round sound, with adequate volume.
I've had them a few years, so not sure whether they are still available, or what the current equivalent model is.

Definitely over the ear for comfort, and nearly all even moderately priced headphones give a better sound that most small speakers. The Sony headphones Yamaha supplies with my CVP are OK, but I have a pair of Bose noise cancelling that are both more comfortable and better sounding. But they probably go over your 100 euro budget. Avoid wireless unless you intend to use them with a cable on the keyboard as Toril does - because they can have latency ie delayed sound.
