And, although Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is written in 12-8 time, maybe experiment with some 4-4 ballads as well (the song does well in 4-4 too).
Also, if you have any of the Ethereal free play styles on your particular keyboard, try those - then you can speed up & slow down the melody of this great song which helps highlight the dramatic melody it is.

Have fun!

Hi Bernard,
I have posted a lead sheet for Hallelujah, with "In Flanders Fields" words (for Remembrance/Veterans Day) under the Sheet Music, Fake Books board, entitled In Flanders Fields-with Hallelujah melody.

I am mentioning this to you in case you are interested in trying it, since you are working on the Hallelujah song. :)

Hi.
Many thanks for the advice. To be honest I don't have a clue where these styles are located on my tyros 4. As a beginner I think I maybe bought the wrong instrument its very high tech. I just need a little help.
Best Regards, Bernard.

That's what we're here for. Ask away when you need help.

Attached is an Excel file which has all the T4 preset styles in it, sorted alphabetically. As you can see, 12-8Ballad is in the Ballad category.

Press the D button to get to your styles, then Ballad, then 12-8Ballad.

PS. Don't use an intro with this song. Simply play two bars of C, Am. That's the intro Cohen used.

Cheers,
Fred

Hi Bernard,

you could also use this psrtutorial site, where you can find an overview of Tyros4 Preset styles and their categories: :)
