Does anyone still gig with the PSR 2100?

Hello: I am preparing my old workhorse the 2100 for a gig tomorrow. So I just wondered: Does anybody else still gig with it? I have often gigged in small places just using the internal speakers of the 2100, but found out that I couldn't do that with my S970. The audience complained that it was all too boomy, they just heard the base. Fiddling with EQ did not solve this, so I got a Bose L1 compact. I will use that with my 2100 as well, since the sound is much better distributed throughout the venue, and I tested it now. The sound was great. So all in all I look forward to using my old keyboard, - apart from the FLOPPY DISKS! And some other handy functions of course, but we take what we have. Wish me luck :)

I do not have a PSR.  It looks like you already tested it.  So, it should work great !!

Gook Luck on your gig.

Hello Roy! Yes, I have seen it, and it is the best keyboard demo ever! The 2100 and 3000 are good keyboards still! Glad I kept it!

I  must say that this was a magnificent demo.

I also like to watch the demo's to learn new technics.  Notice that the  Yamaha demonstrators never use any thing that isn't on the keyboard being demoed.  This means that watching demos of older kb's are almost always showing things you can do with your kb and the built in features.

Yes! It will be a long time before I can get such sweet sounds from my keyboard. But We have a saying here: you learn as long as you live.

Yes,Roy, I have noticed that if you focus on some word or phrase, suddenly you hear it all the time😀

It is called the "Reticular Activating System" (RAS) . . .

Quote:
"The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a bundle of nerves at our brainstem that filters information so the important stuff gets through.

The RAS is the reason you learn a new word and then start hearing it everywhere."  end Quote
